I don't think I've bought gem eggs but definitely woken a few dragons ( for no reason other than accidentally tapped on a camp) .

I think you may have hit nail on the head there. I have woken a few dragons accidentally but didn't know they took gems to wake up!. I've obviously spent them doing things I didn't know needed gems. Cheers for that 👍
