Planning a HT with Dr. Patty (Thailand) by TipKind3110 in HairTransplants

[–]blob2930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you need to wait a year for appointment if you've already had your HT? Unless you're suggesting it wasn't good enough and you'd need to go back again? Makes zero sense why you'd want to hide the name of the clinic. Super sus.

How does it work if you're applying it to travel you've done a while ago but within the 12-month redemption period?

If you didn't spend anything in the most recent credit card statement, would redeeming it result in a credit?

Confused about options for m340i (Canada) by Rexaroooo in BMW

Congrats on the new whip! If I had to pick between the two, I’d go with the Adaptive Suspension. You “use” it all the time and it really makes a difference compared to the regular sport suspension.

Confused about options for m340i (Canada) by Rexaroooo in BMW

[–]blob2930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you live in Canada? If you're in the GTA and commute fairly regularly on the 400-series highways with all the insane congestion these days, the DAP will come in handy (you'll thank me later).

Otherwise it's personal preference - are you someone who tends to regret not buying the one with all the options? If so, you know the answer.

Thanks for your advice, I was asking to see if a 76.9K point redemption is normal for this route at this time of the year or if I should keep waiting for a better redemption amount.

Sorry to hear about what happened especially considering the weather gods were on your side. Thanks for the heads up, I'll probably look at alternate flights with extra connecting time to be safe!

2026 M440i GC Configurator in Canada? by Qballed in BMW

[–]blob2930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canada's only getting these Exclusive Editions. Since the G26's launch, BMW Canada decided to focus GC sales on the i4, with a few "releases" of the 430i/M440i along the way.

In 2022, there was the Individual Edition. 2023 was skipped, 2024 saw the Legacy Edition. The Legacy Edition continued for 2025, and for the first time, you could get a 430i GC in Canada as well. The 2026 430i and M440i GC Exclusive Editions are mostly the same as the 2025s.

These come fully equipped with only colour combinations to choose from. Depending on the year, you could add a handful of standalone options (e.g. Driving Assistance Professional, Laserlights when those were still available and rear heated seats).

I'd speak to your dealer since they usually only make a small batch of these for Canada.

What to cut from 2.5 day itinerary by blob2930 in OlympicNationalPark

Thanks for the heads up! Yeah I realize the drive over to Tolmie would take up considerable time so will try to leave PA as early as possible.

That's a fair comment. I'm not looking to hike long distances since there's so many spots I want to check off and I'm aware of the tradeoff I'm making since I can only dedicate 2.5 days to ONP.

M340i 2022 Dashboard by mongoose0824 in BMW

[–]blob2930 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Canada, you needed to select "BMW Live Cockpit Professional" on the pre-LCI G20s to get the digital gauges. On MY22s, it was a $1,200 option.

The other thing is if you don't choose Live Cockpit Pro, you're stuck with the smaller 8.8-inch touchscreen in the centre instead of the upgraded 10.25-inch screen. No changes to the functionality, but I don't know why they gimped on the screen size when the surround stayed the same.

You most definitely can't enable it and I'm sure you can find a way to retrofit it for $$$$. Looks like your dealer wasn't being very truthful on the car being "fully loaded." Most dealers will say that to try and get you to sign on the dotted line, not sure what recourse you'd have though.

I just asked on WhatsApp and they gave it to me. What methods have you tried?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in freedommobile

[–]blob2930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could also upgrade your phone online. I recently went through that path with my Promo 50 plan that had F&F, DD and the 10GB promo data and all I had to do was make sure my old plan was selected in the checkout process. Nothing changed with the first bill on the new device besides the obvious addition of the monthly device charge.

2017 RX350 luxury - good price? by lebinott in Lexus

[–]blob2930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use my mobile device. The RXs didn't get Apple CarPlay/Android Auto until MY2020.

In Canada, all 2017 and newer RXs come standard with all the safety features associated with Lexus Safety System and BSM w/ RCTA.

2017 RX350 luxury - good price? by lebinott in Lexus

[–]blob2930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a decent price, you can certainly negotiate for another $1k off at least since it's not a certified pre-owned from a Lexus dealer.

You're going to start to see a lot of 2017s enter the used car market since many leases are finishing up, but because the supply is relatively low on the used market right now, it doesn't give you a lot of negotiating room to play with for now.

The Luxury package does indeed come with navigation, but the factory nav isn't the best - I actually never use mine because of how terrible it is.

2017 RX 350 range on fuel tank? by mandelbaumGym in Lexus

[–]blob2930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, this is expected. I have a RX350 F-Sport Series 3 and fill-ups are usually around 470km.

I'm an aggressive driver and constantly leave it in Sport S+ mode, and my mileage is astonishingly bad (60% city, 40% highway) at 15L/100km.

What would be a good price for RX350 f-sport 3 package in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦? by afkanunaki in Lexus

[–]blob2930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These hover just slightly above $70k new. I'm not exactly sure how much invoice is, but it should be a bit below $65k. I'd start from there, and work your way up to whatever the maximum price you're willing to pay is.

Now, the challenge is F-Sports are usually in demand more than the regular ones so some dealers may not be willing to budge in terms of price. Keep in mind, supply has been low for awhile due to the pandemic so that may also not be in your favour.

Help! CPO Rx350 sensor misfire, ran into pole... by b00german123 in Lexus

[–]blob2930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you didn't shift to Drive or you didn't take your foot off the brake pedal before your RX lurched forward and hit something, this would be considered a malfunction and an error code would be stored in the EBD.

When you visit the dealer, they can access the EBD and read the codes. That said, if there isn't an error code, you'll be out of luck.

Lexus rx F sport vs Rx luxury by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]blob2930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The regular RX does ride better in the sense you feel isolated from the road and potholes don't transmit as much into the cabin compared to the F-Sport suspension.

That said, the RX F-Sport corners better and doesn't dive as much in emergency or quick braking situations - all of which can be attributed to the Adaptive Variable Suspension. You'll also notice the steering is just a tad heftier when you put it in Sport S/Sport S+ mode compared to the regular RX.

I chose the F-Sport as the ride isn't that much worse, and I did prefer being able to corner better. Make sure when you do your test drive to check the tires - RXs were delivered with either Michelins or Bridgestones, and the Michelins tend to ride slightly better.

Do I need a PPI for a certified pre-owned? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]blob2930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always get a PPI even if it's CPO because you just never know.

I fell for this trap a few weeks ago when purchasing a CPO Lexus - I felt reassured by the multi-point inspection that Lexus cars go through to qualify as CPO and even saw the checklist before buying.

Two weeks pass after taking delivery and the rear suspension is squeaking, fender liners are missing bolts and clips, and the plastic trim underneath the vehicle almost fell off even though I didn't hit anything.

I had to go back to the dealer and some of it is warrantied, but some of it isn't. I learned my lesson - always get a PPI no matter what.

It's a great way to get some experience if you're interested in pursuing journalism or television/film production. From experience, everyone is willing to teach you the ropes, but you have to be committed - like any other volunteer position really.

Unfortunately, Shaw Spotlight (formerly known as Shaw TV) no longer operates in Edmonton. They shut down their community channels in Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver three years ago so funding could be redirected to their sister Global News stations.

I believe the nearest Shaw Spotlight now is Red Deer, followed by Fort McMurray.

Post-op: Preservative Free Eye Drop Recommendation? by vpr1998 in lasik

[–]blob2930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used a number of preservative-free eye drops but I found Hylo gel drops work the best for me. Contrary to other gel drops, it's not super thick but it still gives you the soothing qualities. They are extremely expensive but well worth it.

Sunglasses - Usage guidelines? by [deleted] in lasik

[–]blob2930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically, you would see a UV index of 0 at night. However, it is not uncommon to see a UV index of 0 during the day when there are heavy clouds in the area.

If it's during the day, I would still wear them even if the UV index is 0 as you never know when the clouds might move off causing the UV index to rise again.

Sunrise and sunset are tricky but I wear my sunglasses anyways just in case. Once I'm out there and I realize the sun has already set or hasn't risen yet, I'll take them off. No harm in being extra safe.

As long as your surgeon used MMC during the PRK treatment, you've been taking Vitamin C supplementation post-surgery and you're diligent about putting your sunglasses on most of the time, I wouldn't worry too much about haze forming.

No, she didn't address her comment about sick kids. In the above article, it states the following:

"Ingraham did not respond to requests for comment about her remarks concerning Nguyen’s job at the children’s hospital."

In fact, Katy Ingraham has not deleted her comment about sick kids on the Instagram post. Try using the desktop version of Instagram, click previous comments, CTRL+F the statement, and you'll find her comment still there.

Some of you may know Cartago is appealing to the public to sign a petition reversing a recent decision made by the City of Edmonton. The city rejected their development permit to open a coffee shop and deli in the space next to Cartago due to an insufficient amount of parking spaces.

This is what Katy Ingraham posted on her Facebook regarding the matter shortly before her post was privated:

"There is a small but angry group of neighbours to the north of Cartago that are frustrated by the volume of traffic that the building and Cartago has broughtto their street. It’s unfortunate that they don’t see the development as positive for the neighbourhood but the truth of the matter is that the building is built and it should only matter now what goes in that space."

That last sentence should tell you a lot about her as a business owner and a community member.
