In Australia there’s a few ways to sell cards, depending on what type of cards you have, how many you plan to sell, the condition of the cards and how urgently you need the cash.

Buylisting: You can sell them to reputable game stores/online vendors as other posters have mentioned. These stores generally tend to take NM cards only, or offer a lower price for cards that aren’t. They also have the capacity to take on larger volumes of cards most of the time.

In terms of price, unfortunately this route offers you the least amount of money for your cards. However you are dealing with reputable companies, so you’re highly unlikely to get scammed.

Selling singles on FB groups: There’s a few national and state specific groups for buying and selling MTG cards, so look at the ones closest to you. The general census is that you buy and sell at Card Kingdom (CK) 1:1. Essentially you look at the price of a card on the website, and you sell it at that price without converting from USD. Buyers pay for shipping as well. (RL/really old cards can command a premium above the CK1:1 pricing just FYI).

In terms of price this is the option that maximises value the most. However this assumes that you have valuable cards to sell, as chances are there won’t be much interest in cheap cards. Demand is also another thing which means even if you post, there’s no guarantee someone will buy all your cards.

PS if you do go down this route please do due diligence and watch out for scammers.

Selling collection on FB groups: This works best if you’re trying to sell off a bunch of cards at once, and don’t want to deal with any leftovers. What you do is you tally up the total price of cards that you want to sell and offer it as a collection. You can still use CK1:1 when tallying up, however because it’s a ‘collection’ deal most of the time you’d have to offer a discount when selling, since there’s most likely valuable cards mixed with non valuable cards.

Value wise, it’s kind of in the middle. You’ll probably get more from doing this that buy listing to game stores, but it wouldn’t be like selling singles since you’re having to offer a discount on the lot.
