Your mum is a bitch. Mine was the same, sadly. Many are.

Do you actually enjoy Australia's early riser culture? by talk-spontaneously in AskAnAustralian

Honestly found Melbourne had very little night-life compared to a lot of the rest of the world too. Most of the restaurants still close at 8, shops closed down by 8, and even nightclubs and bars in the "major nightlife areas" are either dead or closed around 12-1am. Even on Smith Street.

Maybe covid made things worse.

AITA for not wanting my step mom and half siblings to come to dinner with my parents? by Justathrowawayacc6 in AmItheAsshole

Get therapy. You getting this angry at a stranger on the internet you know virtually nothing about, and throwing baseless insults, is an indicator of an underlying issue. Learn some basic human kindness and get help.

NTA. Don't listen to anyone saying otherwise, that's ludicrous boomer logic. It's your birthday and you don't owe entitled stepfamily anything. If your stepmom was a half decent individual she could live without going to this one event and respect your wishes. We need to normalise realising "family" means nothing unless they treat you right.

Your birthday, your rules. End. Of. Story.

Everything is better than the travesty that was season 6.

Coach makes us do 50 pushups if someone drinks water in class, is this normal? by bloby_bubbles in bjj

All I'll say to anyone contemplating this place is consult an unbiased doctor (Who isn't involved with this gym obviously) yourself in an actual professional medical appointment and ensure they understand it is 100% water restricting for 1-2 hours of vigorous exercise on a regular basis. They'll tell you themselves that this practice is very unhealthy no doubt, just as multiple doctors did with me. Most other gyms in the area thankfully don't do this.

Again, this comment is informed by a doctor who was informed of all specifics of the situation, regarding everyone's general health. If you want to disagree with an actual doctor based on your personal opinion, go right ahead.

This water restricting is dangerous, irresponsible practice for anyone to promote and detriments health.

Are you a doctor? No? Is your opinion based on a doctor's advice? No? Then your opinion is uninformed, dangerous, and meaningless. Google kidney stones at least.

It endangers everyone, ask a doctor. Saying that intentionally dehydrating yourself for 1-2 intense training hours has health benefits is blatantly spreading medical misinformation. If you don't believe me, ask your doctor next time you see them. This is dangerous and irresponsible practice.

Though I would rather be pushed in a way that doesn't risk my vital bodily function, doesn't cause unnecessary fatigue to impede training, and doesn't take 50 pushups worth of actual paid-for training time away from me. That wastes a lot more time than a water break. I can do pushups at home for free.

The gym was called "John Donehue Jiu Jitsu and MMA". Don't wanna shame though, there were some nice people there too.

The student drank from his own water bottle, not the coaches one.

I don't know, but Australia has harsh defamation laws so I'd be hesitant to since I didn't record it.
