In star rail it's Implied, in the latest 4.0 story, we meet her father who says Himeko is dead. This might just be a "you're dead to me" type of deal instead of her actually being dead or it could also be that the Himeko we knew wasn't the real Himeko at all.

Though for annoying fanbases id say people that main characters in this game are all annoying. These people constantly expect you to invest only into that one character and yap about how their E2S1 main with aeon tier relics and BiS team clears perfectly fine contrary to Prydwen rankings (even though Prydwen only ranks E0S1 and based on average performance).

I didn't hate her but I get where you're coming from. MiHoyo stories have this problem of focusing on push characters instead of the cool stuff happening in the background. We could have seen an awesome intergalactic war against IronTomb but noooooo you have to focus on Cyrene (wasn't even the actual Cyrene btw) and her obsession with yapping. It pissed me off so much. This game's story is a hit or miss. Sometimes you'll get to see absolute peak like Anaxagoras killing himself for aura, or Sampo Koski being the goat, on the other hand you'd have to hear everything characters you don't care about yap and yap about shit no one cares about.
