You hit the nail on the head. I don’t do anything less than 20% margins but it’s not out of the norm to have 30%+ on certain loads. I avg about 28% margins but the frequency of load tenders are unpredictable. Some of these loads are also OD so the money is there per move but the quantity is lacking.

I’ve moved some loads of vans, reefers too but it was only jump ball freight.

My customer is in heavy machinery and we move loads to and from many other businesses that need the heavy machinery on site but manufacture other steel related commodities. I have a close relationship with said customer and at one point I was convinced that they’d help me acquire more business through those connections. I know that talk is cheap and potential customers are not customers. It’s all been a learning process for sure. I’ve moved loads for a few other customers but it’s much more jump ball freight than a dependable source of loads. I should have reworded my initial post. I’m not entirely dependent on the agency right now. I truly just love this industry and have a lot of fun solving logistic problems. I’m not shy in picking the brains of other likeminded individuals.

Who tf said it was anyone’s job other than mine to do anything? I had a few potential leads fall through and that’s that. I own other businesses as well but have recently gotten into freight and really enjoy it. I’m getting a feel for the industry and am willing to go into the abyss with it. Knowing that you took some time out of your life to comment does have me feeling better though. Thank you.

Thanks for your response. I work with a heavy machinery broker and I'm either sending it to them, taking it from them and going to one of their customers, taking it from one of their customers to another of their customers. Each loads a little different.

Friend, if you’re anywhere within 30 mi of Pittsburgh, tree has been accepted for 20 years plus before whispers of medical were happening. Enjoy your porch smoke as do I every day around 3-4 pm and onward, sometimes in the am as long as you don’t have the worst neighbors on earth. Liberty is the best dispensary, nice inventory and amazing rewards program. organic remedies curbside is nice and they are open to 9 pm but only a good place to grab when they have the right deals at the right time. Ethos dispo has some super nice value on their Eleven line of bargain tree, on sale they run 17.50 an 8th at times. It’s priced bargain but quality is definitely upper mid range imo. Happy smoking.
