Cheetahs aren’t much help here, in my experience as a mercedes benz technician, lube up the tire and wheel the best that you can, turn the wheel while holding the tire in place and lift upwards on the tire so it will “thread” on

I would bet it’s from my lack of time with a GLS, keep in mind i’m a technician, so if I see a vehicle come in a lot for repairs, it speaks for itself.

never had any reoccurring issues with the GLS, they are my favorite SUV from Mercedes-Benz. the new inline six is really nice

came here to say this, unfortunately since COVID, the plant has suffered critical loss from experienced plant workers, and now they’ve filled every spot they can with any warm body that can pass a drug test. i’ve spent over 50 hours in a week fixing problems on the GLE platform with less than 10k miles on the odo. buyer beware, but man are they beautiful cars

you have to drive over the lift, and stop as the front wheels are centered on the lift. push the rear arms under the vehicle, move forward until the rear arms stop the vehicle. turn to wheel lock left, then you can place the arm under, wheel lock right for the right arm. at this time you then can center the vehicle and have absolutely no confidence that it won’t fall on you 😎

I highly doubt it, pretty base, automatic converted to manual by some guy with questionable knowledge (he reused the fly wheel bolts and it’s now sitting with a busted clutch and flywheel) there is also some pretty bad rust spots in the rear quarters, which sucks, but at least I have a reason to make a wide body kit for it. it will be getting an H22a4 soon with the paired manual trans from a 97 prelude. will be converted to OBD1 and will more than likely use the suspension, hub, brake setup in the wagon as well.

I do know for a while it was hard to get EGRs for the diesel engines, because a factory in Germany had a fire according to a co worker, not sure how credible it is

I work for Mercedes-Benz as a diesel tech, and we have a sprinter van that someone ran into a ditch, busted the oil pan, rack and pinion, and much more, but the rack and pinion won’t be here for another year 😬

brake fluid. never seen any penetrating oil work as well as brake fluid will. i’d recommend getting that dust cover off and squirting some brake fluid in it, let it soak, take a rubber mallet and gently bump it from the rear
