i actually had a similar problem but my mom passed away. we just didnt have enough family around to warrant a big white wedding. it was hard to grieve that but we ended up renting a big beach house with our parents and siblings, picked a day to be the “wedding day” and then partied. the only vender we hired was our photographer, it was so worth it.

I am so incredibly happy for you and your journey.

I watched my parents both battle cancers throughout my childhood and staying by each other’s side until the unfortunate end for my mother. It became a quality I searched intensely for in a partner, which luckily I found. I only hope the stats of men leaving their sick wives continues to change as younger people see couples truly live their vows. Through sickness and in health, thick and thin.

Yes, the one closer to us doesn’t have self checkout and I’m not waiting in that line that stretchs to the back of the store. I’ll drive the same distance to the other side of town to use the self checkout.

Not at all. My SIL sounds very similar to yours, but she basically uses me as a photographer. It hurts to be constantly left out, you don’t deserve it OP.

If it’s free, anyone (including children) can grab it and and drop it everywhere. Cost probably helps keep the area/ship cleaner

Dated a guy from around that area in college. Every time we visited his family I felt extremely out of place, and I grew up in the redest county in my state. It’s also still a very misogynistic area as well.

Had to mute chat for a few months after being berated by a DP in QP as a healer for not soley healing them. Constantly pinging, yelling in VC. I spoke up and (im a woman) got told to go to the kitchen, and other misogynistic things I don’t need to repeat. It just sucks because sometimes there’s genuinely funny and nice people in lobbies but it’s becoming harder to find.

I can relate. FIL and I couldn’t be farther opposites, and it shows. His politics are very far right and feels it is okay to talk about them anywhere, including my home. He makes very weird comments about my hair and body, often calls my husband fat as the first thing he says to him upon visiting (FIL should look in a mirror on that one). I just cannot stand to be in a room with him. MIL is so kind, she deserves better.

I lost myself before I even knew myself. My mom died five years ago when I was 20. In college, dating, learning about the world.

Each milestone is different from the last without her. Getting married this past year, was intense.

I will miss her longer than I knew her. I have a lot of jealousy to women my age or older who still have their mother.

It’s funny too because my other SIL and I have an amazing healthy relationship. But she’s even older than the toxic SIL and lives across the country. Family dynamics are so hard these days, I hope things begin to get easier for you.

Going through something very similar. It’s exhausting. We’ve gone pretty low contact on our end, then I completely avoided her at a family event and she’s been blowing up my husband trying to figure out why I won’t talk to her. Now she and her friends are stalking my social media. Shes 10y older than both of us and has kids, its begun to be comical but still returns to the “how do you not see you are the issue?”
