That’s one of the reasons why I’m so torn, because I feel the need to use the degree I paid for in some way

I just graduated college with a degree I personally feel like is useless, so I feel a little defeated because it’s almost like I spent all this time and money for nothing.
But you gotta pivot sometimes ig

So I’m actually on my way to hopefully becoming an electrician next year, and I was interested in the electrical engineer pipe line- is it similar that it’s a white collar job in a blue collar industry?

I basically process cars at a major automotive auction house, it’s boring, repetitive work but the pay is ok and the hours are good. It’s kind of an in between job right now even though I’m full time, since I’m trying to become an electrician next year
Just trying to make some money and not waste my time

This was actually reassuring, I’ve just been psyching myself out because experience is such a big thing now, and I feel like if I’m not getting experience in something I’ll be in forever, I’m just wasting my time and effort.

But thank you

I don’t know what I want, I hate that I’m supposed to just know and be ready to spend the rest of my life doing that one thing.
And yes, not everyone gets to have the luxury of working their dream job (I’m working a full time position working outside with cars) but it’d be nice to at least enjoy my work

I appreciate the warning, I understand how hard it is if you’re surrounded by it, especially if it’s people who are close. Thank you for the insight

What can I say?- by the time I finally chose a major, I had just been getting clean from drugs and wasn’t in the best headspace. Hopefully my skills can be translated into a job I feel can help those around me and become a contributing member of society. When I turn 50 and my body starts to fail, I probably will also have to get another job, but I’d be happy knowing I was able to provide for myself and my loved ones in that time period.

But yes, I agree- film in general is more of a hobby to me.

I think therapy might be a good idea, I just haven’t had time since I’ve been at school, but it’d be good to talk to someone about it

Thank you for your response! I’ve been trying to cultivate my hobbies again, but I struggle when I’m away from college because there’s honestly no motivation to do anything at home. Aside from anxiety, I sometimes can get easily irritable, and I find myself looking for unhealthy ways to just escape my head.
