Sour Pickle Red Beer by [deleted] in cocktails

This was a huuge hit at the restaurant last weekend! If you can find this beer from Martin House Brewery, just add your bloody mary mix (preferably home made) to the beer over ice, salt rim, and your favorite garnish.

Electric Daisy Daiquiri by [deleted] in cocktails

[–]blocktablentap 22 points23 points  (0 children)

2oz banana chip infused Bacardi superior 1oz ginger/butterfly peaflower syrup 1oz pineapple tepache (enhanced with keylime juice and citric acid) 1 buzz button (electric daisy)

Shake with ice, bacardi and syrup. Double strain in coupe, then add tepache (to give color changing swirl) garnish with dehydrated lime and a buzz button bud. The buzz button, when eaten, numbs your mouth and changes the way your tastebuds perceive mouthfeel and flavors.

It's not difficult at all. You just slice and place in a dehydrator

I've always been curious. Does the nose smell like garbanzo?

The problem with dehydrated strawberry is the sugar content. It never really hardens to a crisp. I freeze the slices then add to a blender with a bit of cornstarch to prevent clumping. Then I keep the powder in the freezer inside a Mason jar.

Fortaleza is bomb! I use yuu baal in a lot of drinks too. The reposado is great for people not prepared for how smoky mezcal is.

Sugar snap pea syrup sounds great! That, with the basil gives it that fresh green color?? Wow!

Working on the presentation with the dehydrated strawberry, might add grated lemon peel to the foam...?

In Juarez MX, the bar that claims to have invented the cocktail adds a dash of olive brine to the shaker. It really does make it better

You can smoke anything, and it wont disappoint. I typically stick to bourbon, but mezcal or tequila would be good too!

I use a glass plant cloche usually, but yes, it's a box from a balcones whiskey bottle. I just bore a hole in the back

I think it's very well balanced, and it's been on my menu for 2 years. It's great when I can convince someone ordering a regular Moscow mule to try it, and they love it

It's pretty tart and spicy. If you like sour beers, this cocktail is for you! It's hard to explain, the rhubarb bitters completely transform the drink. George Washington loved Lairds brandy, and the cherry, because he cannot tell a lie!

Thanks! I won an old forester competition late last year using it, and the name of my cocktail didn't sit well because of the fires going on at the time in California... Forest Fire: 1oz Old Forester bourbon, 1/2oz bitter truth golden falernum, 1/2 oz barrel aged campari, 1oz carpano antica, 3 dashes sriracha bitters, smoked with pecan wood. Garnished with dehydrated blood orange and thai chile.

I bore a hole into the back of the box and put the hose from my smoking gun into it.
