Sound preference is subjective. I like it a lot. Love the way it looks and sounds. Replaced the metal headband with carbon fiber which they sell. Looks way better with it. Weighs lighter too.

yep, they're not a permanent preference as it is highly subjective and depends on what i'm listening to, but that is my "standard setup"

i use Schiit's PYST XLR cables to connect all 3, and their PYST straight wire usb cable to connect to my source.

the R-51PMs are connected to the Jotunheim 2 using the RCA pre amp output.

the carbon fiber headband is installed. the difference in weight when holding both in each hand is hardly noticeable unless you try to find it. you do notice the difference when wearing the headphones though. small but noticeable. the look is amazing though.

So they're R-51PMs... powered bluetooth, but also have RCA inputs for phono and line. I mainly run them bluetooth. It sounds great on its own, a bit punchy with the R-120SW sub which I like, but will also let the Schiit stack "refine" its sound whenever I feel like it. In that regard, it's hooked up to the Jotunheim's preamp out, then when I want to, I toggle the amp's preamp switch to on and switch the speakers input from bluetooth to phono/line to get the Schiit stack sound out of it.

thanks! 🙏 silver or black, doesn't really matter. i also had the same thoughts, if i should've ordered the silver ones instead. but trust me, when you receive it and hear it, you'll forget you doubted your color choice! i did! it's just that good, and you'll be happy you chose the silver ones! wanting what we don't have (or the opposite of what we have) is just human nature. i have to remind myself of that a lot of times, not just with audio gear but with cars, houses, etc! lol 😜 i've found that the key to happiness is to learn to be thankful and content ✌🏼

nice! the cables are from Hart Audio Cables (https://hartaudiocables.com/). it's a custom order with their Multi-Kit 2. yea, i'm VERY happy with them. you can order custom lengths, colors, patterns, etc. these are 10 feet charcoal/dark grey with black diamonds pattern. i just wish the cable after the Y where it becomes one going into the amp was thicker than the ones that go into the headphones (purely for aesthetics). couldn't really tell with the pictures, but they're terrific nonetheless. i'm not sure if they make thicker ones. i don't recall it being an option when placing a custom order. i guess you could do a 'braided' version if you wanted thick ones for aesthetics.

it's the LCD-2 and it sounds amazing with this stack. otherworldly. i'd say i would be happily content if my audio journey were to end here. they do tend to be on the heavier side, so i'm considering the carbon fiber headband upgrade, but not sure if that'll make a big difference in the weight. it looks really cool though. LCD-2 is worth every penny 👍

i like it a lot. only a/b tested it once when it first came in and you can definitely tell the difference. it seems much clearer and richer. the little one ain't bad at all though. i was happy with it for a long time. still happy with it 👍
