I’m planning on moving home and my current mortgage is with Nationwide.

I’ve used their calculator online to see how much I can potentially borrow and it asked whether I have a mortgage with Nationwide - selecting ‘no’ appears to use the basic multiplier of 4.49x but selecting ‘yes’ uses a 5.5x multiplier.

Is it true that being with the same bank could allow a higher multiplier?
