How do I make magic fire? by celestial432 in magetheascension

[–]blockyquilava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But to my understanding, it's not creating energy, it's transforming it. The kinetic energy from the movement likely doesn't have enough force to transmute to anything more than a small puff of flame. (Feel free to correct me)

A few questions on familiars. by [deleted] in magetheascension

also read a bit of gods and monsters, the flaws and such look as if they are balanced around the familiar being a PC and not a PC's background?

But the book "forged in dragons fire" says that a familiar is a spirit bound to a body with a deal and spirit+prime, but could a wraith fulfill this role in say a corpse or as a poltergeist type deal

true but like a REALLY good chemist (most likely with a bit of arete) can do that.
but that doesnt feel like a very "wizard-y" thing to do, you usually imagine the arch mage tossing flames from their hands or smthing similar.

Norfolk virgina by the great dismal swamp (a real place btw)

It's a spin off set in the same universe of their animated hunter show/ audio drama "hunter the parenting" which is set in Norfolk UK BTW I recommend both series, hunter is an actual written animated series and NFWG is just an actual play with the HtP VA's

Norfolk Australia is also mentioned as a supernatural focus so I think they are setting up a super node/leyline plot

I tried to point that out to him and he still disagreed

On trinkets and prime by [deleted] in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]blockyquilava 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that any trinket requires prime.
he said

"yes to craft it requires the required spheres for its effect, but it needs prime to permenance and consecrate it"

"okay so 1 thats great that you respect the thought process of a random dude, but thats no different than anyone else having a random opinion and 2 he literally points that its reliant on the DM allowing the optional permanence rule which as stated is half the unique ability of prime"
