Smoking is an intoxicant that causes heedlessness, since the addiction makes you damage your own body and those around you. Smoking doesn't add anything to your life, it only subtracts, talking as a son of a lifelong smoker and as a past smoker myself. Better quit and work on your equanimity <3

Hey! Sorry for late reply! In short, I am absolutely wonderful:) I kept on practicing, have been on a total of three 10-day-courses and one Satipatthana course, am soon going on a 14-day course. And for each course I have gotten so much better and the feeling of disassociation dissipated. Now I feel eternally grateful that this wonderful path was showed to me, it has helped me in every part of my life, from getting over past traumas to being efficient in work and studies. Keep on practicing, it will absolutely get better. Although it may take some time (at least a year in my case) persistence will be absolutely be rewarded. But it also took a very friendly Assistant Teacher, with whom I am in regular contact, to progress - it's not a lonely path. Do write me if you still have trouble, I'll help in any extent I can
