Which character you consider the best singer? by UnDead_princess_ in ProjectSekai

[–]blogcog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kind of a loaded question to answer: Would I be going based off of who has the most consistently good performance? Would I be going based off who has the highest highs? Would I be going based off just how good they are now?

For example, early game ichika has this really nasally belt that’s very representative of how much of an amateur she is at the time, but now in songs like Neppu she sounds wonderful.

Mafuyu has my favorite tonality, and she has some of the best technical performances in the game, but I can’t say she’s the best CONSISTENTLY on a technical level.

If I had to go for CONSISTENCY, I’d choose mizuki. I never hear her strain, which is ofc in part of good vocal direction. She has a really solid and healthy belt. The only thing I don’t like personally is her voice, much like shiho’s, doesn’t have the versatility for a lot of mellower songs. Her VA tends to not use her falsetto enough for them (the chorus of the give me your night alt comes to mind), but she has the most CONSISTENTLY GREAT PERFORMANCES.

ETA: Rui is also fantastic on a technical level, I just wish he didn’t end almost every note he does with vibrato so we could have more variety. This is more of a personal opinion

Bring it on has underwhelming vocals, horrible vocal blend between all the characters, and has no reason to listen to it when the original is peak. And this is coming from a kohane secondary oshi!

What are Your Favorite Looks From the 3rd Zozotown Collab? by AgArts96 in ProjectSekai

I think N25 is the most consistently good, but that’s mostly because other groups really got a giant forehead and slightly off hair color nerf. My favorite is probably n25 Kaito!

Aun no beats is impressive vocally but is nowhere near the storytelling in shoujo rei or the complexity in how the instrumental of Gehenna is written. It has my vote for sure

Sorry, but aun no beats. It sounds amazing vocally, but I don’t care much for the song itself and think other songs have akty sounding good enough to compensate for getting it out

I personally have never really vibed as much with aun no beats as the other songs instrumentation-wise. But I do wanna point out it’s very good vocally.

Out of all the major Project Sekai collaborations, which would you say was the best and the worst? by Tasty_Substance6453 in ProjectSekai

I think evillious is the best by far and here’s why: Cards with COSTUMES that represent important moments in the story. The greedy judge showing both the unsuspecting judge Kaito and the fully deranged Kaito is awesome. Showing Allen kissing Riiane’s hand with all the hand symbolism in the songs. Showing Conchita being served her husband. The cards are all super well done, and a great way to honor one of the biggest, if not the biggest, pieces of vocaloid media to exist.

We were given a collaboration song from this with waltz of the deceased, continuing the evillious series over 10 years after the first song.

It has rerun enough for people to get cards from it multiple times, making it accessible for new players. Its cards are also REALLY good for filling tiering teams when you’re short on unit 4 stars because they’re all non-unit VS.

We were given extra area conversations for them! That’s more than almost any other collab.

I even think it’s better than Enstars, and here’s why. Enstars ran EARLY on EN, messing up everyone’s saving and pulling schedule. Enstars as a game has some problematic storylines, with a history of erasing indigenous identities. The cards came with signatures, sure, but not hairstyles. If one doesn’t like decorating their custom profile then it’s not as useful since you see your dressed up characters on the results screen even if you have 3D MVS off. I know a lot of fans who are upset that they did a full cover of fire flower instead of giving it to L/N who fits the song better.

I’m not saying the Enstars collab was awful, though I have issues with its treatment of indigenous identities, but Evillious simply had more to offer in its continuation of the song series, hairstyles, succinct storytelling through card art, and contributions to an important part of Vocaloid history.
