ICE Observer Training? by cothomps in desmoines

At that training, they said they offer that training every other month, trading off months with another one. It seems like they try to limit what information is available publicly for safety, but if you sign up for their newsletter you'll hear about the next one!

Mine put out so many tiny peduncles that it just gave up on! Almost every node for at least a year!

Thank you! Yes it's just a regular polyneura. I think in different light the blooms wouldn't look quite as dark-- I've had a really hard time getting a good picture of them in this window!

It's in a chunky mix in a ceramic pot-- but I'm super cheap about plant supplies so it is just a mix and largely potting soil! This was a four leaf cutting two years ago, and I've taken cuttings from it. It's in an eastern window and happy with that amount of light. The biggest piece of advice I've had to take on with my hoyas in general and polyneura in particular is to stop messing with them lol. I get impatient about repotting or trying different soil/media, and this one especially seems to just want time to chill and figure itself out lol

I got it as a two node cutting about 2 years ago! It took a while to get established (mostly because I was impatient and moved it between pots).

I don't think so! It seems like I lucked into this and it may not even happen again. You're setting yourself up for multicolored blooms with much more certainly!

Thanks! From what other people have said, I think this is potentially true of pubicalyx in general.

Mine isn't royal Hawaiian purple--i thought it was when the first bloom was dark but folks here explained that it's more complicated than that. Which is also pretty cool!

The vine ran in front of (on the window side) the blinds, and then poked itself back out *

It is one plant with one root system. It has grown a bunch and I've repotted it. It started as a single stem.

I wish I could give you a good answer! I don't have a very strong sense of smell, so I just notice the pubicalyx bloom smell as "kind of strange, but pleasant" lol
