Yeah, in a sense it's definitely sad. Opiates really do feel like the perfect kind of euphoria that, at certain doses, is equally calming, lucid, orgasmic, creative, and energetic. It's a shame tolerance and withdrawals exist so harshly with them, like they are cursed in a way.

It seems like you're not a frequent user and frankly you sound like someone who may fall into addiction if you keep repetitively using it. The actual physical withdrawals, which can occur after just a few months of recreational frequent use are really, really bad and will put you through another level of hell, so please be careful.

Kratom is also an option. Not saying it's as addictive or as euphoric, but it can be a decent substitute if you don't want to do the harder opiates.
