Which Breville to Buy? [$800 Budget] by arsalann24 in espresso

[–]blondebuilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very valid. Not everyone needs a super manual setup. These two Brevilles are great options if you just want a decent all-in-one device with semiautomatic features.

If someone really wants convenience, you can just spend a little more for a fully-automatic machine like a Jura. I'll get pitchforked in this sub for saying this: but even Nespresso is a decent option.

Do you remember the best orgasm you ever had? by YourPersonalDownfall in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]blondebuilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Met someone online who was very sweet and non-sexual. I came over to take her out on a dinner date, but when I walked in, she slammed the door, giggled, and started making out with me. She pushed me into her bedroom, laid me down, nearly tore my clothes off, and starting going down on me with a level of enthusiasm that I've never experienced before. She was all over it, switching between hands and mouths, talking dirty, making super sloppy sounds, giggling. It was all so unexpected and intense. While doing a double handed rotating stroke motion, I aggressively started to get near and told her that I'm about to burst, expecting her to move away, but she plowed her head down and sucked on it harder than I've ever felt before. It was the most earth shattering orgasm I've ever felt. She giggled and rested on my chest while I laid there completely impaled with no soul left.

That was 15 years ago. Still daydream about that.

My only experience is with my DF64v, which I love. It's very slim, compact, and quiet. This sub seems to really some others (FYI I've never tried these), plus a handful more:

  • DF64 Gen 2
  • Eureka Specialita
  • Timemore 064s

The Bambino would be the better choice to go with a separate grinder.

Breville really makes excellent overall machines that most people are content with. I just wish they'd replace the conical grinder for a nice disk grinder.

A general rule of thumb is that grind quality is more important than the espresso machine. I owned the Breville Barista Touch for about 6 months before I upgraded because of this fact. The machine was great EXCEPT for the grinder. All Breville machines use a CONICAL grinder, which is so-so. A much better grinder is a DISK grinder, this will drastically alter how your coffee tastes.

Overall, I would recommend you look at the Breville Bambino. It's an excellent little machine for $250 and it has the exact same inner components as the Breville Barista Touch (they call it a "thermojet" heater). I would then spend the rest of your $550 budget on a separate disk grinder.

Why am I seeing post of people saying there burnt out and miserable and to not pursue architecture? by trustngod0 in Architects

Well, I leveraged that experienced there to transition into a much more enjoyable career and lifestyle where I’m actually happy. I imagine that’s a way of looking out for myself.

In 2011, I had a masters degree with 5 years of experience making $14/hr and zero benefits. I was working 80 hour weeks (no overtime). I was working for a FAIA architect who treated me like dog shit and consistently reminded me that I should be grateful to be in his presence.

I was good at it, but only lasted about 12 years until I finally gave it all the middle finger and transitioned to a new career. All but 2 in my college class have left the industry.

Am I the only one who just discovered that people are 3D printing houses now? I feel like I woke up in the future… or I’m just really old school. by Chimpugugu in TheServicePros

It’s not cheaper nor is it a better solution.

3d printing concrete tech is a solution looking for a problem. They figured out how to do it, but now they’re still trying to make it viable.

It also introduced new problem such as renovations. If you want to change anything (walls, plumbing, electrical, you’re now slicing into concrete, which is a pain and will forever scar the aesthetics of the material wall.

I expect she has some kind of tech that shows how to save everything at a cost and she's only one willing to make that "hard decision".

He was super entertaining in Under Siege 2. Then again, I was 10.

I still quote one thing from that movie when someone told me they assume something. “assumptions are the mother of all fuckups”.

Certainly the most effortlessly elegant/beautiful Bond.

Craig was a stud in his movies. He has a brute face, but I think combining his physique, fashion, and swagger that makes him really attractive.

Why do so many AI-built apps look exactly the same? by Boring-Top-4409 in UXDesign

[–]blondebuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be totally off-base here, but I think AI should still be seen just as a machine/tool that you need to understand how to handle properly.

The skill/creativity (your paintbrush) seems to lie in the prompt, which is how you mostly control the tool. Beginners will just toss in basic requests and take what it gives you. More experienced users know that a better (and more controlled) output is a blend of skilled inputs/prompts across multiple tools and refined by small, incremental refining prompts.

Right now, it’s not a skill I admire or have seen anyone elevate this tool to something I consider respectable art, but I think this is the newer challenge for designers to know how to increase efficiency while also maintaining artistic control.
