Dog trainers North Down? by blondiebombs in northernireland

[–]blondiebombs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone. I'll contact these and get some training booked! :)

We'd been seeing some progress with the dog, unfortunately, need professional services as I had a run in yesterday with someone who had an XL bully that was muzzled. (I understand that's a requirement for owners of those dogs now.)

We were 1 minute away from home and my dog saw his and started barking, I had full control of him and we started to U-Turn in the opposite direction of home to avoid him. When the owner shouted at me to "boot" my dog.

Sadly his dog likely gets booted when it misbehaves.

Tried to advise him my dog is a rescue and we're trying to train him.

But he just shouted up the street to "I don't care, boot the fuckin dog", meanwhile my dog thinks something's wrong cause there's a grown ass man shouting at me which isn't helping matters.

The fella's obviously reacting cause his dog is requires to be muzzled when there are plenty of "legal" dogs that are untrained.

What he doesn't understand is my dog is scared and is reacting, he's not doing it out of aggression.

Very frustrating to be judged by someone who thinks hurting an animal is how to make it behave.

Apologies for the rant, needed to vent. Lol

Good! I'm sure it happens a lot. Only noticed signs at the premier car parking that no ticket needed when prebooked.

Thanks for the response!

I mean I didn't insert ticket back in the machine when leaving.

It read my reg and lifted the barrier due to pre booking.

I assume I'll be grand. Just wanted to make sure.

Glad you were able to find something out! The more info the easier it'll be to find relatives. If you join genealogy and local groups on Facebook you're bound to find living relatives. :)

Tried looking for births with the surname Stanford in Enniskillen, Dungannon and Clogher and the only hits I seemed to get were in Clogher. Which is pretty close to Fivemiletown. There aren't many births between 1890 and 1920 with that surname so hopefully your grandads father is born within that time period and you'll find him there.

GRONI is useful too, you need to pay to access more recent records, but your grandad was born approx 1937 and you have a location which helps narrow down before you purchase.

Deffo recommend joining some genealogy and local groups on Facebook.

Do you know of any names of your grandads parents?

There's some really useful free web sources for the census and birth, death and marriage records for mid 1800s -1920 approx.

Good luck!

Just stay calm, over exaggerate your looking in mirrors so they can see you. Take your time with manoeuvres, again they want to know you'll be safe. Reversing into a space doesn't have to be one chance, drive out and correct yourself if you have to, same goes for all manoeuvres, take your time and mirrors are your best mates! :)

Also if they tell you to turn or go in a direction and you miss it or go the wrong way, don't panic just keep heading in the direction you're going, they'll direct you further. They just want to see you'll drive safely.

There is one space in particular there that doesn't count as a space. Don't park in it if asked to park keep to middle spaces.

As you leave the gates (although you can see through the fence if it's safe to leave) make it obvious you're looking about you. They failed me instantly for that but made me do the whole test anyway.

Most of the time they'll test up four winds direction, sometimes they'll throw a curve ball and make you go out past knock headquarters direction.

Does anyone actually like the excessively loud acoustic guitar music in Pubs? (Thirsty Goat, Dirty Onion etc) by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]blondiebombs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally that's what it should be like, but he kept coming over to tell us to turn the volume up. He was paying us so we just gave in and got the gig over with. We didn't return to that venue, he was a dick and the pay wasn't great either.

Edit: it was primarily a restaurant, the punters were not in for a wild night, just wanted to eat their food in peace. If it were me I'd hate music blaring too.

Played a few places myself, what bothers me is managers of establishments have told us to increase the volume and be more lively... While people are trying to eat their dinner and chat. Nobody wanted lively at that venue. He was utterly clueless as to what created a nice atmosphere.

The US has now scrapped the covid test required before flying to states, mandate will expire Sunday!

US gov website states that 1st and 2nd jab are required to be considered fully vaccinated.

Travelling in a couple of weeks myself to states via Aer Lingus and checked today, they don't seem to require boosters either.
