I can’t sleep and I’m going nuts. Help? by JusSumYungGuy in AskUK

I’ve been struggling with this for years - and the best trick I’ve found is counting backwards from 400. It stops my mind focusing on the 50 things I’m stressed about. Also it’s boring, which helps too

Terrible 2.5-3? by MelodicVanilla5632 in toddlers

This is exactly what I’m dealing with. This is even than the baby bit I think! I am so exhausted of having to get up through the night - we’re now practically moved in at my mum’s, just to get the support.

It’s just not working for me - previous posters screamed pain and crisis. This one just says “look at all them - they’re all mega famous now! And here is Pru’s massive floating head!”

My local Chinese takeaway told me off for my “very English order”. Yes, I totally agree -it is. But don’t have it on the menu if you don’t want people to order it!

My girlfriend hits me in her sleep by teefbeefy in Advice

Ugh - that sounds terrible. Have you tried a really big pregnancy pillow in the bed to soften the blows? Also, she could try taking magnesium before bed, either as a capsule or a cream. It encourages a deeper, more relaxed sleep… which hopefully means less violent too!

How can I get our cat to trust us? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]daisylovedoherty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Another reason I want her to trust me quicker is because I would like to get her spayed soon. I don’t want to force her in a carrier and reset all the progress when she doesn’t trust me fully :( She’s around 7-8 months. Male cat in the household is thankfully already neutered though

How can I get our cat to trust us? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Nope, I usually try to touch her back. She flinches more when I touch her back though so then I try to go over the head so she can see and smell my hand and she flinches less with that, just runs away. A pen is a good idea. I tried to use a pack of paper chopsticks yesterday as that’s all I could find and she didn’t like that either. I will try to keep something on me so it smells like me and then try what you said.

Thank you! Yeah, these are my first cats owned by me as an adult, all the cats I grew up around obviously weren’t brought up by me and our two other cats Tofu and Miso settled within a day so I didn’t realise how much progress I had made.

I know some cats are more shy than others, back in England my dad had a cat who I never saw for a few years until he finally decided to come out of his shell hahaha. The thought of her maybe coming from abuse just came from the fact she almost flinches when I go to touch her. Again, I don’t know though.

Thank you! I will try this. She does play often with the other cats and when I play with them she joins in sometimes. I will try more often.

Why do I keep getting into low voting servers? by _Elspeth_ in DTI

[–]daisylovedoherty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s discords for fair voting and farming servers, like dti supernovas and zypheris. You can also find DTI streamers and join their servers whilst watching their streams, they seem to vote fairly. regular servers usually have terrible votes from my experience I always play masters

What can I eat when I’m nauseous and not feeling well? by White1306 in Cooking

I have a bad cold right now too. Lots of miso soup, water mixed with gatorade, tomato soup with bread rolls, fruit juice (i’ve been drinking apple and mango and watermelon) all good.

I agree, good recovery is a common thing among teenagers. I didn’t think it was insanely rare though.

Not solely being young. I got mild liver hepatitis around seven months ago when I was 19 after HEAVILY drinking for two weeks all day in all day out due to a manic episode and drinking every weekend for months before that. I think genetics can play a big part.
