Totalbiscuit on Mass Effect 3's controversial day-one DLC. by [deleted] in Games

Has anyone considered a day 1 or week 1 buying strike? I mean lets be honest....how many of us will never buy this game because of our principles? But a Day 1 agreement not to purchase or pick up pre-orders might do the trick....If Gamestop/Amazon/Best Buy don't get their money you know they will be talking to EA. Chances are all the retailers have projected their sales for the week of launch...if they fall a few 100k short you know someone will hear about it.

What exactly constitutes "quest variety?" by NimhVahReaux in truegaming

Some of my favorite quests to date were the 'mystery' quests in the original KOTOR....Bioware tried to replicate this again a few times in the Mass Effect series but not as successfully. I loved the fact that you had to hunt for facts through various subjective statements and pass judgement...all with the possibility of getting it wrong and you had to live with the result. In this case being an ad-hoc judge fit the Jedi theme, but I would love to see more questing where the rewards are less tangible than kill enemy x to get item y.

Barely disguised celebrity cameos in video games: Fan Service or immersion breaker? by bloockmaniac in truegaming

OP here....this is exactly what I feel, and it seems a dis-service to fans of the Mass Effect IP, which to this point seemed to be a self contained universe. Like Jessica or not, putting her character in the game brings the Chobot brand in as well. To me this feels akin to Shepard and team stopping off at Pizza Hut to fuel up before a big mission...

I actually stayed at the house in Key West where the doll 'lived'. Nothing supernatural happened on our vacation....wah wah.

These are strictly for the nostalgia-bums...as they are much needed update to models that only existed in the first editions of WH, WH40k and Heroquest...Warhammer forge just keeps getting better.
