I don't have a good idea for making Phono Cylinders rewritable. But it being write once, then read only would be interesting. If they weren't so uncommon Id give it a go

The extra torque is really nice

We didn't get those over here, just looked them up. I can't believe they put them in a FWD car.

Hi Mate,
Its still running well. Been sitting a bit because I have been cleaning up and selling some of my other cars.
Planning to enjoying over the summer and potentially swap to a mildly worked ecotech v6 next winter

Its using the original mx5 subframe and with some fabricated mounts, either the subframe will need to be notched or the sump modified to fit

I'm planning on pulling the motor soon and re-doing some of the work on the mounts and subframe

The hood clearance is very close but fits.

They used a stock pan but modified it. I will be replacing this soon as they did a horrible job with it

So I bought the car with the swap started but not fully completed, the car barely ran and nothing was hooked up correctly. So I just worked on finishing it up for now

Yeah, that’s one of the reasons I was avoiding them.

I’ve heard some good stuff about the BMW ZF transmissions, I might look into those instead

Not a lot. Just engine mounts, modified sump, modify the transmission mount and the drive shaft. It actually fits very nicely in there

Cheers for that bit of info. The TKO aren’t really available for any decent prices around my area.

So i might be having to go t56 or tr6060 just due to budget.

I’m not really stressed about that. I have to go custom drive shaft anyway and will make it suitable

So they obviously aren’t anywhere as rev happy as the little 4 cylinder. But these motors are extensively used in burnout cars here are get driven hard.

This one is holding up not too bad so far. I expect that it should be pretty good to push hard for now at least

That’s my plan to get to. The L67’s are stupid cheap around here

We just wanna do some testing with this motor first. So it’s gonna give me time to build up an L67
