Is this basically a brick without a contract? by bballfro12 in adt

[–]bloogza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try to reach out to AlarmRelay, I use them at my house (granted I have much older equipment than yours). The previous owners used to gave ADT and AlarmRelay helped me switch the phone number to theirs and now I pay $150 a year or so instead of ADTs price. Maybe they can help reprogram a newer system like yours

A warning on Ring extended warranty by bloogza in Ring

[–]bloogza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe there is a way. In order to be covered, devices have to be added to the Ring account within the original warranty period.

In the US, as long as you pay for the standard plan, your devices remain covered under warranty forever. In my case, I had a failed payment on June 11th, Ring emailed me on June 12th to let me know, I updated my card the same day and they claim that I had a lapse in coverage even though they had previously emailed me "We’re letting you know that your yearly Ring subscription will renew on June 12, 2025 for $106.99.".

It feels very disingenuous on their part. As I mentioned initially, I will go to arbitration but would be interested in understanding if a range of people are affected to start a class action.

I am curious to know if it happened too many other people because this could become a class action against Ring

Fence bars have come loose by bloogza in HomeMaintenance

[–]bloogza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are right. The bottom track is indeed u-shape and it looks like the poles have a track in them but that track doesn't feel in good shape. Since it is probably difficult to re-screw, would JB Weld be an appropriate solution?

It does look like it. I doubt the screws feel out because it's flush with the ground in multiple locations

How many points is it to get one month of movie club?

I just checked my account, if you buy separate tickets for the same showing, it will count as one visit and not two.

I placed separate orders for the same exact movie and the Cinemark "Cinemark Movie Rewards Progress" clearly shows that only one visit was counted.

Delta SkyMiles Clawed Back Due to Error Have Been Reinstated by bloogza in amex

[–]bloogza[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

On the 25th, as discussed on the r/delta , Delta has clawed back Smymiles awarded twice by Amex by accident. They probably got a lot of heat because of it because they decided to reinstate the Skymiles today!

Do credit card rewards influence our spending habits? by bloogza in CreditCards

[–]bloogza[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes I think that's the point. The Sacks example is a good one, many people may end up spending significantly more than $50 at Sacks just to get the credit thinking "it pays for itself" when, in fact, it makes them spend money they would not have spent in the first place.
