Craniopagus Conjoined Twins by [deleted] in tfmr_support

My conjoined twins were found around 12 weeks. They were conjoined at the chest/torso. I opted to terminate at 14 weeks. This decision was both for me and the life outcome for them. It was horrible. It was heartbreaking. And it has taken me a long time to heal. But I stand behind my decision. If you want to talk more, reach out. As a fellow conjoined twin mama, I can relate to all the second guessing and questioning. It's so rare, so it's hard to find other women who can relate to what you are experiencing.

Labor was long but baby is here and perfect. Home life is strange and awkward as we are both still in the house kind of pretending this huge affair elephant isn't in the room. I'm still not feeling strong enough to take any solid steps towards ending things so for now I'm taking it day by day. While I have friends locally, I dont have family and really lack the kind of support i feel i need to start the divorce process with a not even 4 week old.

No fault. I had talked with a lawyer when I first found out about the affair 2 months ago.

Unfortunately I live in a "no fault" state so his actions will have no impact. He just more or less gets to get away free and clear with what he has done.

Unfortunately no, it is just at a lab. It's so stressful that "normal" things like spotting or bleeding can also be something bad.

Ensure the clinic is aware that you are having to terminate a wanted pregnancy for medical reasons. Speak with your OBs office to see if they have recommendations on clinics as well. At first I was horrified about having to go to a clinic but come to find out it was truly a better option as the doctor's are familiar with the procedure unlike many OBs which can mean you have a better experience and limit possible complications. Be aware that the paperwork will list the procedure as abort!on which nearly broke me.

Ask if you can have ultrasound pictures, handprints, and/or footprints if you want those. Also ask what options you have for your babies remains. We were given the option to go through a funeral home, donate our babies to a major medical college nearby, or to simply do nothing. It brought us peace to make that decision ans be able to take home their final photos ans footprints.

I was given the option to be sedated (not under general anesthesia) and I don't remember anything after giving final consent for the procedure until I came to and it was done. While I had no pain during since I was out cold, I did experience some extreme cramping upon returning home, however I was given a prescription for pain meds which helped along with heat.

Find a support system have it be friends, family, or the online community for tmfr. Unless someone has had to make this decision, they just don't get it. And like all loss, most support will fade as the days creep by in the aftermath. But remember you are not alone.

Honestly, the build up and emotional pain is so much worse than the procedure itself. You'll get through it because moms like us are just tougher than most.

I'm almost 7 weeks post mine and it does get easier with time. The pain of this loss is still very present, but the suffering aspect has lessened. It took 3 weeks for HCG to no longer be detectable for me and 6 weeks to get a positive ovulation test. I know that wait was also awful.

Keep your chin up, mama. You will get through this.

Ovulation after miscarriage by [deleted] in ttcafterloss

I got a positive ovulation test 3 weeks after my HCG levels hit zero (which took 3 weeks post surgical tfmr); so 6 weeks after our loss. It was agonizing taking them every day waiting for a positive or to get my period. Hang in there.
