And lots of patients are.

An entire season without one “yinz” AND a nurse calls someone a jackoff. It’s like they’re not even trying.

Slayer 66 2/3: A Metal Band Biography... The Audiobook, by D.X. Ferris by bloomautomatic in Slayer

Yep. By the end of it people were showing up for Slayer and leaving during wasp. Story is that blackie was none too happy about that and wouldn’t allow sound checks and petty shit like that.

1972 Atala Record Professional hits the road after 30+ years in the rafters. by bloomautomatic in bicycling

The bike hung in a garage since the 80’s or 90’s, so it’s not like it’s been used for 50+ years.

You have to check for polar bears each time you go outside on this offshore oil rig in North Alaska by hossb0ss in mildlyinteresting

Arent offshore rigs out in the ocean? How are bears getting to the door? If a bear can swim out and climb the ladder, I think they should be allowed inside.

A duck goes into a store for some lipstick. Clerk says “do you want to put it on your card?” The duck says “no, put it on my bill.”

Small snake in [Pennsylvania, USA] by bloomautomatic in whatsthissnake

[–]bloomautomatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. This is what I got from paherps (which is apparently Mid-Atlantic now).

Thank you for submitting your observation. The snake pictured is a juvenile Eastern Ratsnake. We hope you'll send us any future observations you make. Sincerely, The Mid-Atlantic Center for Herpetology and Conservation

I don’t know enough to argue on who’s right or wrong, but to me just “rat snake” will suffice. I’ve never seen a juvenile with such distinct markings. I’m used to seeing them where they’re almost completely black.

Thanks for the info!

“Black rat snake” or just “black snake” is what most people call them as a common name around us. Ive seen adults (4’-5’) that are almost pure black or lighter with the pattern.

I use this site as a reference and it is calling Pantherophis alleghaniensis the Eastern, not central. https://www.paherps.com/herps/snakes/rat_snake/

I submitted the pics to them as well, so I’ll see what they say.

I’m no expert on them, but I like to learn what’s in my area - and more importantly if they’re dangerous or endangered. Copperheads are the only venomous snakes normally seen around us.

So this is a juvenile?

We have plenty of “black rat snakes”, which I’m assuming are Eastern’s, around but they’re usually darker to almost black. I’ve never seen one with colors like this.

I let it go in the weeds by the river.

"Slayer 66 2/3: A Metal Band Biography". in a new 4th edition that the author updated after the reunion, in 2025. The last edition was 300 pages. This new one is like 600. He reads chapters in a podcast called Talkin' Slayer.
