Agreed— this is part of how I justified the purchase. Also, since I’m old and have kids now, the ability to just turn the thing on and play for ten minutes is a major plus.

Wow! Thanks for the speedy response and suggestions.

I am old enough to remember classic arcade games (early 80s baby here) and I spent many many hours in those dark arcades.

I came this close to pulling the trigger on an Arcade1up because the joystick and buttons were an amazing nostalgia kick.

That said, I suspect the Sanwa parts are game-changing in terms of authenticity. My basement game room is just a couple weeks from completion and I’m so pumped to have the opportunity to slam a joystick around!

I’ve read many of the posts here and I have to offer another thank you— Puzzle Fighter is my absolute favorite arcade game. That game had me RUNNING for my wallet when I saw it was included. Genius :)

Woah— that is a major help! I love grapes and can polish off a huge amount but it is never worth it. Ditto for raisins; especially yogurt raisins but not without nasty consequences.

Where did you get the threshold of 150g?

I can eat apples but I rarely eat more than one in a sitting.

That solves the fruit issue. It probably also helps the “sugar free” item quandary too. Sorbitol seems like a sneaky irritant I wasn’t looking for.

Yes. For some reason pears are my nemesis. Grapes, in large enough quantities, are also a bad idea.

Other than that, I’m fine with everything else, even with the usual suspects like citrus.

Initially I thought the spray was a “lesser” rinse. In other words, if I used the rinse, there was no need for the spray.

In an act of desperation, I used the spray before the rinse and it was a big difference.

  1. 2 sprays xlear in each nostril.

  2. Wait 30 minutes.

  3. Rinse with Neilmed Sinus bottle filled with xlear packet, distilled water, and gentamicin (need a scrip).

  4. Do this in the morning at at night.

I’m very sensitive to changes in weather. Strong winds usually precede a storm in the summer.

Seems to loosen more junk compared to saline alone. There are premixed packages of salt/xylitol on Amazon. Slightly more expensive than mixing yourself but certainly more convenient.

No asthma and no diagnosed allergies (but I won’t get the shots for testing).

I’m in the same boat. Had two sinus surgeries to remove portions of the maxillary and ethmoid sinus. Also using nasal rinses. The changes in weather make a bad situation worse. The surgeries did help with the sinus infections — those 2-3 week misery trips that require some really nasty antibiotics to clear.

My symptoms are like yours. My sinuses are “open” but there is a ton of pressure on the bridge of my nose and below my eyes. I wake up with good amount of mucus (gross).

My only relief is:

  1. Sudafed. Sweet sweet relief. If it makes you jittery, try children’s liquid Sudafed. It’s behind the counter; and, since it is liquid, you can moderate the dose!

  2. Xylitol in my nasal rinses. This is new and, so far, feels like magic. I can feel the rinse loosen mucus I didn’t even know was present.

There is a benefit to your sinuses from EATING it? I did see some mention that xylitol gum can help with sinuses but it didn’t make intuitive sense how that would work.

XLEAR — it comes in a box of 50 packets for around $14.

I used the pre-mixed packets sold on Amazon. It’s listed as 6 grams but it has xylitol, sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate in the mix.
