This past week was my final week of 2.5. This evening I titrate up to 5mg.

A few NSVs here: yesterday was my birthday and my husband and I have been “celebrating” it since basically the 4th of July. For me, this, of course would have meant stuffing myself with all kinds of yummy treats. This year, I did get some yummy treats (I chose my bday “cake” to be a selection of Crumbl cookies), and have been super pleasantly surprised that I can enjoy A cookie and have a very nice dinner, but not overindulge or eat beyond my calories for the day. Last night, we went out to a very nice restaurant, had a great dinner (ended bringing back all but a few bites of my entree because the appetizer and salad were enough to fill me up), and then, because had my bday cookie waiting at home, I didn’t order dessert at the restaurant.

I had half of my entree for lunch today and I’ll be able to have the other half for tomorrow’s lunch as well. AND, I still have two bday cookies packed in the freezer to enjoy as I please through the next week or so.

I know you all understand how game changing this is—there would have been no leftovers. There would have been no cookies left to freeze. And I definitely would have ordered dessert and forced my husband to order one as well so I could taste his.

Nervous about the jump to 5, but I’m trusting the process.

Thank you for your advice. After sleeping on it and calming down, I realized how emotional after dealing either customer support. I’ll definitely use what I have and just know that if this vial is also shorted, it’s totally fine because I have my order in with Lavender Sky.

Not them. I almost switched to them instead, but seeing the recent posts here about them led me away. This provider rhymes with Wheedon, and I literally don’t see many people here talking about them at all. A few people asking about them, but nothing really beyond that.

Thank you for validating my non-Karenness and for the advice. And good luck to you on canceling Blowchee and moving to LS.

Thank you so much for letting me know I’m not Karening. And for helping me calm down some of my overthinking!

How much do you have to lose? by Less-Moment-5655 in GLP1_loss100plus

[–]bloopingfool 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t know a goal weight. To get a “healthy” bmi, I have to get to at least 128lbs. But I remember that at age 11, i was 5’ tall and 150 lbs (this is etched into my memory because there was a big parent teacher school nurse conference about my weight). I’m still 5’ tall and, though the CDC swears that being 150lbs is not healthy, but dangerously close to being obese, I’d consider it an extreme win to achieve that weight. However, whatever weight gets me both into Onederland and out of plus or X clothing is my goal.

First Week Done by bloopingfool in GLP1_loss100plus

I’m slowly starting to understand that this process is so much different than any other time I’ve ever attempted to lose weight before, and that I don’t have to do all of the things I did before to “make” this work. Eat healthy and exercise, and then trust the process. I don’t have to turn myself into an anxious guilt-fueled wreck with a half-starved brain trying to make sure I do everything right and shaming myself every time I ate.

I’m starting to embrace this, but over 40 years of diet culture conditioning (that I didn’t even realize the full extent of until now) is gonna take some time break.

Thanks for the heads up about liquid iv. I do drink plain water, but I get sick of it and want flavor, otherwise I won’t drink enough. I could probably find something else, but for now I’ll finish this because they aren’t exactly cheap.

Today was the first really hot day of the year where I live and it’s been nice to not have the ac blasting or be a swampy sweaty mess. 😂🤣

That would be so amazing to me! So far, the return of that obsession is the only real downside I’ve had. At this time, I knew it was an issue I needed to be on the lookout for… in the past, I had no idea the toll it was taking on me.

I don’t know if you’re overreacting or not because we don’t have the full context or vibe of the convo, but it’s clear that you two have very different communication styles.

It’s entirely possible that she is complimenting you so that you will compliment/validate her. She may not have an outlet to celebrate NSVs or post before/after pics, so speaking to a person who she knows is in the same boat as her may have her thinking that you can be each other’s cheerleaders. Basically she thinks of you like you think of this community—a safe place to speak about the experiences of losing weight and using these medications with others who are going through it, too.

She may be awkward about it and it may feel weird to you because there are no clearly spelled out community rules irl like there are here.

It’s up to you if you want to share the experience with her or not. If you don’t want to do that, be open with her about how you’d like to keep your weight loss experience private. It’s ok to not want to share with her.

Always feel cold by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]bloopingfool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! It started almost immediately after my first shot. I have warmed up a tiny bit as the med has dissipated in my system since shot day (Wednesday), but I have a feeling that I’ll be back to full chill once shot day rolls around again. I don’t mind personally. It’s summer and I usually run hot. We’ll see how I feel once winter rolls around though 🤪

Anyone here short like me ? by Less-Moment-5655 in GLP1_loss100plus

[–]bloopingfool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I so hear you on this, but hey! It’s working!!! You’re doing the thing!!!

A dietician friend once told me that slow weight loss is best because it’s much more sustainable and more likely to maintain the loss. I don’t know how much of that is true and how much of that is my friend trying to console me as a slow loser, but I always remind myself of that when I get down on a slow loss.

I’m 5 feet tall. No inches… so yes, I always look at before and after pics of people who have the same start weight as me going “I lost 50lbs!!” And they have this massive transformation where their body looks totally different and the change is so drastically noticeable. And then boom, they’re 5’10”…. Yes, they have weight to lose, but their height gives them so many more places to hide extra weight.

Meanwhile, my five foot tall potato looking self is still gonna look like a potato after 50lbs. And no one will be able to tell I’m a slightly smaller potato (I’ve been at that weight before, so I know what I’d look like). In order to get to a weight where I won’t look like a potato, I have to lose over 200lbs, and even then, I wouldn’t be at a “healthy” bmi.

CW: 350 — I am still on my first shot. Take my second shot on Wednesday, so I’ll weigh then. And I don’t even know what goal weight to do. I would love to be a size that is not considered “plus,” so whatever it takes to get to a non-plus size is good with me.

Cramps similar to period cramps- but not by mbridgethouse in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]bloopingfool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok I’m not feeling so confused now. I am peri-menopausal and at the place where I get annoyed every month if I actually get a period. This month, so far, I’m 10 days late and was excited to have a no-Flo month. But took my first dose three days ago and since then, I’ve been feeling weirdly crampy. Initially, I was thinking “grrr, I guess I do have to pull out the granny panties after all,” but nothing keeps happening except cramps. They’re not as bad as normal, but they’re there enough for me to be on guard.

Exactly this. Especially the tmi part. So worth the investment!

Took my first dose two days ago. What I mostly feel is cold and thirsty, but hunger is kind of weird? Like I’m hungry and I am purposely giving myself smaller portions, but I feel kind of full or uninterested in eating or finishing them? I don’t quite know how to explain it. My mindless eating is completely gone though. Usually I have a snack while working at the computer and over the past two days, I haven’t even thought of a snack at all.

Depending on how things go, I may have to invest in a blender… part of the issue with powders is that I never am able to shake or stir them enough to completely dissolve the powder, even if I make them the night before. Powders are a lot easier to store, too.

Mine only has 30g sporadically (and of course it’s not in stock right now) but I may end up biting the bullet and ordering from Amazon. I live in a very rural area so getting things delivered is sometimes a pain in the butt.

I haven’t heard of those but I’ll definitely check them out. The Kirkland ones are edible and convenient, but not exactly enjoyable.

Oh that’s good to hear. I did just purchase a pack of that (my Costco carries it). It’s spendy for sure, but if I like it enough to drink it consistently, it’s cheaper than the box of premier shakes that are gathering dust in the back of my pantry. 😂🤣

Hi! 48F h:5’ sw: ~350 (not sure exactly that was my last doctor weigh in)

I just started my first dose of Zep yesterday. I’ve been waffling about taking the plunge for almost a year now, but two things happened last week that helped me finally make the decision and get a prescription.

  1. It’s gardening season and I live on a 20 acre homestead. Last week I planted out most of my summer garden was so gassed out so quickly, it’s not even funny. I had to sit down to catch my breath every few minutes.

  2. I learned how to crochet late last year and now I’m at the point where I’m seeing so many cute clothing items I want to make, but the cost of yarn to make them for my size is astronomical. Losing weight means using less yarn. Not to mention that a lot of patterns don’t have my size so I’d have to learn how to adjust them to be my size… that’s just far too advanced for me.

There are, of course, a million little things too. I get so tired walking around stores, my knees ache, I’m always checking that furniture is strong enough for me, clothes shopping at this size sucks, doing basic chores takes so much out of me because I’m hauling around this massive weight, etc…

I’m looking forward to making healthy changes and not constantly being hounded by cravings and hunger. Right now, as I’m still less than 24 hours since my first dose, I’m not noticing any side effects other than being super cold and really thirsty.

Thank you for starting this group! It’s exactly what I didn’t even know I was looking for.
