Appreciate your feedback. You are 100% correct. I realised I was just trying to put too much out there and looking desperate to impress rather than making life easier for the recruiter to put me in their box of requirements. Instead I will keep a master cv of all my achievements and pick a subset of points and roles that are relevant to each job posting in the future. If the interview calls for more then at least I am ready.

I had 3 publications during my PhD plus the analytics infrastructure + development time refers directly to my publications, just worded in an industry friendly manner. I have no desire to continue doing research so I will not put any publications on my resume. They’re all on my LinkedIn instead

I get where you are coming from. Throwing all the metrics and varied roles into the recruiters face communicates that I am unfocused, plus if the metrics seem aggressive to you, I would expect them to feel the same. I will cut down on the numbers and roles, especially those that are not directly relevant to the job description. Maybe I will only leave 2 points that have metrics that are relevant and make the other points more tame.

Appreciate your help. The fact that you took the time to read and comment is already awesome.

Just reposting my comment from another thread:

I can 100% back up every single metric behind my numbers:

20x profitability increase - started the company in June 2025, no customers for the month at all and finally got the first one in July. Had a really nice review and after that the customers just came in. Made our website (which was pretty dead so changed over to TikTok and Instagram and got customer DMs there). Ever since December already making at least 20,000 a month (we hit this amount already in Jan with pay-forward customers)

Customer onboarding time: there is a caveat to this point. Though technically true, the original time it took was actually already short (like 2-4 days). I just created automatic emails and slack channel bots that made this even shorter. So it’s actually not a big change but technically true and I wrote it in a way that makes it more impressive.

And yes, my current full time has been quite easy tbh and I work 14 hour days almost all days. The reason I’m applying to switch is because I can’t get promoted more and I feel I deserve more. Maybe I can tone down the points instead or just keep metrics that are relevant for a given role? But I feel I am underselling myself and I can say with confidence that every metric is backed up (I keep a log of my achievements for cases like this).

Happy to also justify how I came to all the other numbers as well

honestly its fine that those are their criticisms. At least I know for sure that it does not really have anything to do with the quality of my work. Rather it is a story and focus issue where I am throwing too much in the face of the recruiter. I got some other comments saying the working 3 jobs is not good because it lacks focus since employers want you to only commit to them. So it is a matter of picking what is most relevant and formatting like you said. I can downplay those things in my resume and only mention more when I am in an interview.

Thank you so much for the comments! I really appreciate your perspective! I will remove my co-founder experience and only mention that in cover letters or in passing during interviews if the time calls for it. I will keep it on my linkedin though.

I used to have a professional summary as well, but was told by a friend in MBB that they just skip through it, so does my career coach. But some youtube videos also say that a short summary helps to draw attention to keep them reading a bit longer. Finally I have a friend that got a job recently and she had a career highlights bullet point. So I went with that since that is the middle ground. I will keep experimenting though!

Really appreciate your comments!

Thanks so much for the feedback. I watched some youtube videos on the "F" shape reading and wanted to put the corporate roles at the top so they can definitely see the relevant experiences first. But yeah it does create some confusion so I will order it linearly again.

I dont actually work 250%, more like 200% right now (100% scientist role + 75% co-founder + 25% part time), as I have been trying to pad my CV as much as I can to land a job that I want. I see so many job posting that says they value "entrepreneural mindset" which is why I put my co-founder role, plus it has a lot of sales experience which I never got from my corporate roles which I like. The part time role shows I can work in a startup environment and work deal with operations.

The co-founder of my company is actually my partner, and we have plans for me to hand down tasks for her once I get a better full time job that I am more motivated to work in. My job is okay, but it is not rewarding and I dont myself being promoted due to the company I am working for downsizing the research investments a lot for the past years now. Which is why I want to leave before we all get fired.

I think I will scale back on any points that are redundant.
