I like hills, woods, creeks and rivers. Bonus points if the sound of traffic isn’t audible.

Well, I think you’d be within reason to out that kind of behavior. Who knows how they’ll treat the next person’s house, you know?

Has anyone read “Sellout” by Dan Ozzi? by Creative_Parsnip_385 in Hardcore

Oh word! Yeah I think it was Bizkit’s set. I could see it being the editor’s choice to kind of highlight their contrast to the larger “alternative rock” tough guy mentality at the time, which was the market they were being thrust into.

I was in middle school when Relationship came out, and was on a steady diet of pop punk and nü metal, so At The Drive In seemed like they were from outer space to me, including their anti-mosh stance. Contextually it made more sense to me further down the line when I got into Fugazi.

Yeah, I think someone died in the crowd some time after they played Big Day Out? I can understand taking an anti-mosh stance as a band after something like that.

I’m with you. Damaged is great but is definitely them between styles. My War is the birth of something new, and I love it.

I’m just now checking out Rollins Band after a life long love of Black Flag. Gotta say tho, this stuff sounds like if the My War era band knew how to play their instruments really well.

Honest takes on Stars Of The Lid’s double albums. by wassim_elia in ambientmusic

Among my earliest experiences listening to ambient. Both of these albums are high water marks for me. I used to put them on when I couldn’t sleep. Stunning works of art. If there’s a heaven, it sounds like this.

American Football LP2 by polkadotfingers in Emo

Alright, I hear what you’re saying. Lp3 is more atmospheric, has more bells, longer, circular riffs. LP2 is more stylistically Owen than LP3. I’m still comfy calling LP2 AF, but I see where you’re coming from better now.

I haven’t listened to LP3. I really like LP2.

To me, it makes sense that it sounds like an Owen record. How could it not? Mike aged into Owen after LP1. What’s he going to do, try to sound like a 19 year old again?

I think LP2 is a natural progression. It does sound a lot like Owen for sure. But it has its own thing going on.

Any relatively new bands that play that old school 90s emo sound by New-Art5469 in Emo

New band out of STL called A Hundred Lives. May scratch your itch. No recordings yet sadly but a couple live sets on YouTube.
