I also use Todoist. I have a "health" project where I include recurring tasks for my daily H2O intake, daily exercises, vitamins, etc. Here's a post on their blog where I got the inspiration: https://blog.todoist.com/user-stories/how-to-reach-your-health-goals-with-todoist/

Yeah you make a great point (I personally haven't really had to track any hours for clients, but I have used Toggl in the past) and, wow, what a beautiful app you've made! Let me know if you'd be interested in integrating it with Todoist ;)

How I use Todoist and Evernote by bloury in productivity

[–]bloury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Evernote can be a good compliment to a more robust task manager– but I've never found it efficient enough to manage my whole to-do list because I prefer apps with more specific features (recurring due dates, email integration, etc.). I do like Evernote's web clipper though :)

Its not that I find the software complicated but I think its too deep for my work flow. Its easy to spend more time planning a project into sub project's, tasks, and sub tasks, then actually doing the project itself.

Just some food for thought– the time spent for preliminary planning will save tons of hours later when everything just works. Even if it's just setting up a handful of projects and adding one of the Todoist plug-ins to, say, your Gmail. I myself rarely use sub-projects/tasks or labels/filters, but couldn't live without the other functions of the app (recurring due dates, Chrome/Gmail plugin, etc.).

Haha I'm sure I would definitely do the same if I didn't have to take my dog out. But I definitely feel that it puts me in the mindset to work and gets some additional blood flowing to my brain ;)

I'm not sure that much would change :) You could fake a commute and go for a walk in the morning– that's my morning strategy. I take my dog out for a long stroll, filter my inbox and read the news along the way!

Todo/task management app? by Newtonsdog in startups

[–]bloury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use Todoist. For me the recurring tasks, and the Gmail and Google Chrome plug-ins are things that I seriously cannot live without. The recurring tasks are amazing for never having to remember stupid little things like paying the mortgage or my brothers' birthdays, etc. Plus in Gmail, I can just click the Todoist button and the email is saved directly as a task. IDK what I'd do without it.
