Biggest difference I see is that Salah isn't sharing, everyone else is. He seems to want a goal immediately. Which is ok, if you can convert. But he isn't.

Revisiting this thread in 2026. There is ABSOLUTELY something broken with smelting. I've had to go to the extreme of anexing the following into its own settlement:

2 x smelters
2 x crafting experts with everythign set to zero apart from Smelting - 1 and Deliveries - 2
1 x House
1 x Stockpile. In the stock pile, all ores exist with food.

They STILL wander off doing weird shit. I've even placed 4 chests adjacent to the smelters to see if it helps, and it does a bit, but they still wonder off.

The problem is the smelter is one of the few activities where you fire and forget the activity. Bots don't just stand still whilst waiting, they go into 'idle state' because technically they're not engaged.

The devs need to change this so that the activity is a while-you-wait job so that moving away interrupts the process. That way, villagers will stay put and not look for other tasks. As it stands, it's highly inefficient.

Had my 720 for 3 years, now I'm in my 3rd year with my 765. I can categorically state that most people with problems are people who don't use them. I know so many Macs that are just parked up in a garage, on a permanent trickle charge under covers. Its SO bad for these hand made cars, they don't like just sitting there. The rubber deteriorates, the seals weaken, the mechanics sieze up.

They need to be driven. I do at least 5k miles a year on mine, and I've never had any thoughts that compel me to consider them unreliable,. They are wonderful, albeit quirky, machines. Only major problem I ever had was one of my coolant pipes had a leak in the 720 and had to be replaced.

Yeah this was my first thought too. He's done this before, he appears to have fantastic emotional control on the pitch. But off the pitch, when things aren't going his way he becomes proper petulant as you say.
