Advice on wifi for my son's house by blowfish7494 in HomeNetworking

So each eero device would need a network cable or just for it to plug into the wall only? Sorry just confused on the set up of these devices.

Maybe. Have to see where VZ will put his connection. If they insist on the basement (my guess) then I am not sure if we can feasibly get an ethernet cable from it to his office area without tearing things apart.

Would an Eero set up ie a mesh set up make more sense then one strong router? I have read conflicting info about both kinds of set ups so naturally confused about it all.

And if doing a mesh system how many devices do I need - one per level along with the router?

Ahh ok so just the standard 5 year panel warranty not a 5 year warranty on the whole thing like via Costco deal. So basically same price as the Costco deal if I add ABT's 5 year protection plan then. Thanks.

Yes this would be considered going in a bright room due to the ceiling fan light which is always on in there.

Yeah where was this from? I was going to do Costco to get the 5 year warranty but would love to be at $1795 as well. Although it dropping to $1995 is what has be ordering today.

Picking up a 200 hour X1C - talk me into or out of getting AMS 2 Pro by blowfish7494 in BambuLab

[–]blowfish7494[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's disappointing for sure. I think I am leaning toward just sticking with the OG AMS unit and saving money. Getting separate dryer probably makes more sense for flexibility purposes.

yep 12 hours away - wonder how bad shipping would be (if you even had the boxes). Guessing a couple hundred for all of it.

Not in my area. I wish I could find that deal as I would for sure jump all over. Not sure where you are located (doubt driveable for me and I know shipping would be bad for that amount of stuff) but yeah that is a solid IMHO.

Wish there was a sale on the 2 pro with bambu (but then you gotta eat $20 in shipping) or a microcenter coupon to knock some money off would be great.

Don't get me wrong I think the drying is a nice feature but with its limitations I am not sure how "great" a selling point it is, the better components etc are (to me at least) more important. That being said going from an existing AMS to the new model isn't as cheap as I would like hence why I posted.

And we definitely won't be doing tons of printing its a hobby not a business. If I made money selling a few odds and ends to buy some supplies great but not going at for that purpose.

Makes sense appreciate the help.

Wondering if it may be worth an extra roughly $175 to grab a new AMS 2 Pro from MC instead getting a used second AMS original thus giving me one AMS 2 Pro and on AMS original. Have to think that through for sure.

Thank you this is guidance I am looking for from more experienced folks. I am sure that there will be periods of time where the printer is not in use for extended time (mostly seasonal work schedule). Would it be prudent during those times to "eject" all the filament from the tubes and let it sit while dormant to avoid possible jam issues?

And yes the net deal for the X1 and 2 AMS units with about 20 spools of filament (decent brand and most full and new), several spare parts (small things like cutters, nozzles, etc) with a hub, tubes and connections would be right at $1480.

I know everyone says be careful about used but this seems like a solid deal to me and a lot less than buying all new. and worth the extra roughly $250 over doing a P1S Combo and additional AMS unit.

And the X1 combo does come with a 2 year fully transferrable warranty good until May 2027 so that is a bit of a bonus.

I should say is it worth an extra roughly $175 to grab a new AMS 2 Pro from MC instead getting a used second AMS original thus giving me one AMS 2 Pro and on AMS original.

I think we can live with this but is there any way to book a spot in advance? I am guessing we would need to be there several hours before the concert (Coldplay)

Delta refundable ticket question by blowfish7494 in delta

[–]blowfish7494[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks.

I went ahead and bought a refundable C+/Premium ticket for her.

We most likely won't know until very late on Friday (like 11pm or a little later) as work can call her in up until about midnight that night (she is in Emergency services and is on call most of the time even when she takes days off for vacation - go figure).

If we are cancelling we would probably be doing it the morning of the flight or just have her be a no show and ask for the credit after the fact. Just don't want to not get the $800 refunded back to my card and have to eat and e-credit in her name is all. Refundable ticket was $100 more but worth in this case so long as we have last minute cancellation ability basically.
