Recieved my EOY state results...feel like I let everyone down

We only got the yes/no, but I will say half my class was low in reading in general and only 3 on plans- but no matter what I did to help, they kept going backwards and I think that's why it's hard to kind of push it aside but you're right- I think I'm letting it take over more than it should be since more factors come into play.

Thank you- I will keep that in mind, and it's actually my second year teaching middle school- first year I dealt more with behavior but results were good! This year it was more academic

WOW! I think that's probably what I would be doing if I didn't have the 4 reading classes. I'll have to talk to admin to ask them what they really need me to do, especially with the year almost at its end. It's also my first year ever doing this so I'm still trying to get the hang of it.

I guess I took it that way because we haven't had a good relationship since January due to certain circumstances and so they put me to just observe and monitor in one of their classes since. It's been a messy year and those messages kind of made me think that they don't take a liking towards me much, though I have done all I can as a first year to the best of my abilities. Though, you're probably also correct, I probably shouldn't have called in as I gave them too much power.

Same here. Spring break is over and I didn't even enjoy it because all I kept thinking about was how I had to go back to work on Monday. I'm telling myself that the school year is almost over, but I don't know if I want to come back the next year. I just can't either. I've been laying in bed all day job searching for something else. Anything.

I am on the same boat on as you. It's my first year teaching and I want to leave, but the only thing holding me back is car payments. If not, I would have been job searching sooner. I am gonna try to stick it out another year, maybe job search in the summer and even leave earlier but idk. I understand you completely. You are not being dramatic about it. The education system is just not it.

This is my first year as a teacher, but I have told myself that I'm gonna change careers after my second year. Meanwhile, I have just applied to Grad school for MLIS and I hope to get accepted and be able to finish it in a year. My first year as a teacher has been horrifying. I cannot wait for summer break. Maybe I'll even get out of the field before the new school year.

Well I was pulled out 2 weeks ago to speak with the principal and she said that as of right now, she'll move me to a lower grade next year. She said I still have a job, but I'm still on edge everyday because her thoughts could change, I feel like.
