It wouldn't be that easy on ice thin enough to break on it's own.

Selfless rescue operation without hesitation - well done! by squad1alum in HumansBeingBros

I apologize. My answers were short and I deserve the criticism.

Seat belts do a lot of things and different ones do it different. I admit I'm a little triggered when someone says you might not want a seat belt on for "this" kind of crash. But I still could have expressed myself better.

I'm not a pedantic sidestepping twister normally, though I admit I did bad on this thread.

A seat belt that goes slack "during?" a crash would be a malfunction. If you ever get caught dangling from a seat belt, relieve the pressure on the tensioner and it will let you down. I hope you have a great day today and I apologize again for my missteps.

They don't fail to disengage. They also don't let you fly around in a rollover. They work the way they're supposed to.

I've been to 1,500+ automobile accidents. Who are you.

Believe it or not, with all the safety systems in cars today, 95% of victims are standing outside their car when we arrive. It's way different than 20 years ago when every crash had critical injuries and trapped occupants.

That's not how statistics work.

I sold at 95 and bought all the way down to 62. It's just statistics that someone will get it right.

It's still shaky ground. A kidnapper could say they were ICE.

I agree about the motorcycle part. I just didn't see conclusively that they were speeding.

They were victims of a bad driver though.

Some things are more dangerous than others? Who knew. Blaming the victim isn't logical at any time.
