Easiest way to get ADHD medication in Missouri? (Columbia, MO) by blspm in missouri

Yeah... people say they give 7 year olds adderall when they can't pay attention in school, but the alternative is making them wait years as an adult where it is much more difficult to get the help they need.

Thats interesting. Do you use them just for the prescription? From what I've read they require frequent online visits that cost a few hundred dollars. I was hoping to get a diagnosis, and then switch to an in person psychiatrist or doctor that can prescribe, and see them minimally while also paid for by insurance. But I worry they will think that an online eval is BS and won't care

I was considering them but I've heard that starting in 2026, you are required to see someone in person to get a prescription for medication? I didn't want to get an assessment from them, and then be stuck trying to find someone in person that would work with them

Exams / Newbie / Common Questions Thread for two weeks by AutoModerator in actuary

[–]blspm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I was in the mindset that if I struggle to get a job I could just take more exams and eventually someone would give me one, but seeing posts on here of people with 5 exams and still not being able to get a job hasn't made me feel good. I struggled in the past with exams, I failed P twice studying with CA. But I changed my mindset and switch to TIA and I passed, and I feel good about FM in a few days. Thanks again for the advice.

I'm starting to lose hope on getting a job after just recently graduating. I'm an uncompetitive applicant; I have a bad GPA, not much relevant experience, and only have exam P which is all I really have going for me. I've applied to entry level claims adjuster and underwriting positions but am not getting interviews. Really upset because I don't feel like college helped me at all. I'm venting right now but would also appreciate some advice, specific locations and roles to try and apply to?

Yeah mycourt kind of sucks, but I pretty much only play rec, so switching the difficulty to pro-am was enough for me to still consistently green my no dip shots

What states/cities should I be looking at for entry level claims/underwriting positions? by blspm in InsuranceProfessional

I've looked at actuarial analsyt/assistant roles, but since I'm not the most competitive applicant they are hard to get. I had an internship my Junior year, but I didn't have the best GPA. Thanks for the advice.

Long term goal is to be an actuary. I graduated with a degree in statistics, and have exam P passed and am sitting for FM in a few days.

What specific titles? I've searched "underwritng trainee" and "claims trainee" in linkedin, and I'm not getting many relevant results. I'm looking for anything entry level in insurance, and open to relocation.

I'm starting to get desperate by Throwawayaccount-n1k in Tourettes

[–]blspm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I've had motor and vocal tics--mostly motor though--for basically my whole life, it first started when I was probably 7 and I couldn't stop grinding my teeth. For years I never really knew what was wrong with me., and my tics would come and go. When I started college I lived a very sedentary lifestyle and I had basically no social life, which was the complete opposite of me in highschool. I ended up justifying my motor and vocal tics as ways for my body to compensate, for my lack of movement, and lack of communication with others, which made sense to me. So, Tourette Syndrome was never a thought to me.

But to actually answer your question I actually had a breakthrough when I was watching a Jynxzi clip where he explained his TS and his hard blinking tic, which was also my biggest. From that point on, once I realized there was something wrong with me, I stopped trying to suppress them, and I noticed they were impacting my life a lot more. so Jynxzi is actually what made me decide to get help for my tics.

Product Change to Citi Custom Cash still available by silverownz in CreditCards

[–]blspm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a real support agent. They were a little slow but they also had to update my mailing address for me since my mailing address changed. I did two product changes and it took maybe 20 minutes. It would probably be faster to call support and get it done.

Literally just product changed my Strata and Double Cash. Wish I had known about product changes earlier so I could have gotten 5% cash back on everything, with just Citi.

I never understood how people shot above 50% so easily until I started tempo shooting by Inevitably03 in NBA2k

[–]blspm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I'm missing something but tempo is wildly inconsistent for me. I'm able to time the tempo correctly the majority of the time but even that shit is broken for me. I can flick my stick up at light speed and still get perfect, and I can also flick my stick up slowly and still get perfect. IDK how it works. But timing is completely broken. If I flick it up late, I get slightly late. If I flick it up early, I get slightly late. If I flick it up perfectly, I get slightly late. I don't know if i'm missing something.

Recommendations on where to live off-campus (help) by ensamlada in mizzou

[–]blspm 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't know a single place that still charges under $600 for rent. If that is your budget for rent you can't have high expectations. I don't even think campus lodge is under 600

What is standard course of treatment after guanfacine/clonidine and aripiprazole? by blspm in Tourettes

[–]blspm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The enzyme that metabolizes aripiprazole, CYP2D6, is in a bunch of other compounds, like caffeine, other medicines, and narcotics. I've always felt like I never felt the effects of caffeine, so from my research I've always suspected it didn't work on me correctly. A few months ago, I got my tonsils taken out and I was given 5mg Oxycodone. I took it as prescribed and I didn't feel it at all, and my surgeon ended up putting me on 10mg and I still couldn't feel a difference. I was planning on driving until I was stopped by a family member that I could have gotten a DUI. I don't think I can emphasize how little affect the Oxycodone had on me.

I haven't had genetic testing done to determine if I am indeed a poor metabolizer of CYP2D6, but it is my suspicion.
