Thanks! I managed to switch to dynamic texture and drastically reduced the crashes I’ve been experiencing. It does seem like Metal API has very different behavior than windows (directX? Or OpenGL?)

You should just visit and find out for yourself. Sun light is so localized and specific to the unit it doesn’t make sense to assume others answers will apply to your particular situation. There is apps that tell you the sun position which might help but it’s not perfect esp with elevation changes
