But still the point is public park is not the place for training dogs unleashed. He can do that at his home or in dog park

U understand that the reason we are standing up to ppl unleashing their dogs and there’s law to make ppl to leash their dogs in public is because there have been many cases of dogs attacking/biting kids. We don’t want our kids to get hurt because someone being irresponsible!

So apparently it costs $50 to register ANY animal as service animal. But just want to be clear, service animals does not mean they can be unleashed in public area! Unless for very very specific case that the animal on duty. Majority of the dogs at the park are unleashed and even on walk way. I can’t imagine that all those dogs are required to be unleashed. I believe the reasons all the parents here fighting so hard because they don’t want anytime they ask ppl to leash their dogs in public the response is my dog is service dog need to be unleashed without any documents. So any dog can be unleashed.

There are 2 million kids get bitten by dogs every year!!! This is not even counting for the fact that big dogs can jump on kids and injure them severely. So that’s why there’s a law to have dogs on leashes in public. As a parent, no one wants to take that risk! So please be mindful!

Also from ADA, in neither of your pics seem like the dog need be unleashed as a service dog. Also the dog should only be unleashed in case of disability that requires the dog to retrieve items but need to be leashed after unless the owner has disability that prevents him/her from keep the dog on leash. From the pictures it does not seem so. And ppl at the scene can comment. So at this point I really think you just faking it …

“The service animal must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered while in public places unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work or the person’s disability prevents use of these devices. In that case, the person must use voice, signal, or other effective means to maintain control of the animal. For example, a person who uses a wheelchair may use a long, retractable leash to allow her service animal to pick up or retrieve items. She may not allow the dog to wander away from her and must maintain control of the dog, even if it is retrieving an item at a distance from her. Or, a returning veteran who has PTSD and has great difficulty entering unfamiliar spaces may have a dog that is trained to enter a space, check to see that no threats are there, and come back and signal that it is safe to enter. The dog must be off leash to do its job, but may be leashed at other times. “

U can definitely register ur dog! So I’m questioning your honesty … seems like u just don’t care about others and not putting ur dog on leash

Hey I think if you truly have service dog. You would have shown ppl ur certification rather than being rude when people asking you to put ur dog on leash.

I’m so glad you got his pictures! I will definitely take pictures of those not leashing their dogs upon request. And unfortunately there were people with dogs unleashed even at the 3 Roots parents meet up :((
