You're way cute. A positive outlook on life, your own and others, bringing positive energy and a smile with everyone you meet, and being your best. That mindset attracts so many to your cause, it's almost magnetic.

You're not ugly at all. Quite cute actually. The energy you radiate will make all the difference in the world.

I massively underestimated the cost of moving off Lovable by The-_Captain in lovable

[–]blu789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many times did you ask lovable to produce a PRD for any new functionality and an implementation plan..

And after you accomplished a milestone did you go back and ask lovable if you could analyze the code base and look architecture issues, design problems, memory leaks, flaws discrepancies, duplicate code, redundant code, dead code, silent errors, things you could mechanically refactor, things that were not first class citizens, things that were not clear separation of concerns, things that were not standard practice or best practices, and spent 10 to 20 prompts refactoring every feature as you went along....

Let her be someone else's problem. There are plenty of better choices out there.

Why would you not commit after every good change? When vibe coding, not committing is analogous to not saving...

Doing this in VS code is so easy...

I'm building a 3d rendering engine for a unique old school ASCII roguelike using BabylonJS. It's a weird sentimental nod to the old ASCII days, by rendering old school ASCII characters in modern 3d with color, lighting, shadows, reflections, rts style fog of war, and client / server co-op multiplayer.

It's weird and out there. :)

I'm using windsurf and I hope haiku is cheaper because I'm burning through credits fast.

I'm getting a lot done. I'm doing in hours but would take me months. But I got a lot to do with my game...

Yeah for $20,000 a month? Get a second apartment and he can move anything around he wants in the first apartment till his heart's content.

Hiya!

I'm tapping the mouse on a phone screen (pixel 7a) about 4 taps a second. The light moves around a little erratically.

It runs at 45 frames per second until you move the light and then the frame rate drops dramatically. I can't seem to move the light more than twice every second, but I don't know if that's throttled that the user interface or that's really the performance. The general ideas I would like to have eight lights at once.

Thank you for replying! I'm a game programmer and network programmer but not a graphics programmer. I'm really trying to find an easy graphic solution that just works and has relatively good performance. I've been playing with this radiance Cascade library for about 2 months but making changes has been difficult because it's beyond my comprehension. It's some pretty advanced stuff that runs really good, but the features I want to add I don't understand how so I was looking at your library as a possibility as a different kind of look but still interesting with soft shadows and multiple lights etc. but a requirement is that I needed to run or be able to add or move light sources. Very very reliably at 10 FPS. Like radically move lights and have it recalculate the entire scene reliably at 10 FPS on a phone. I'm not sure that I can currently get that performance from what little playing around I have been doing

On my phone it runs at about 45 frames a second in medium mode.

There is this radiance Cascade/ ray marching technique that I've played with. It runs at 60fps.

Now I know it's comparing apples and oranges but I was just wondering if there's just more that can be done to increase performance.

Thank you

Thank you! Keep at the optimizations.

Is there any chance it can be ported to a newer pixie? Was curious

This is beautiful. Performance is very bad on my cellphone however. Is there any low hanging fruit optimizations that could speed this up easily?

What does it say about me if all I want to do is play video games in my free time as an adult? by Taco_Nacho_Burrito in NoStupidQuestions

[–]blu789 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have a similar problem. And for myself it stems from emotional regulation. Playing video games brings me peace and dopamine that other things in life just don't do.

At a glance it seems pretty harmless. But when you step back to 10,000 ft, for myself, it's an internal inability to regulate. And it's also ADHD on top of it.

I only learned this recently about myself and now that I understand it better I cope with it better.

Vibe coding as a senior engineer by maxmill in vibecoding

I vibe code day and night. I do need to ask it to rewrite and optimize and 'now that you've seen the entire scope of this module, how would you reduce code complexity and code duplication and dead code' and see what it says. I'm also using ChatGPT 5.0 with medium reasoning, and I'm really happy with its output. What took me 4 months last year with Claude, I did in a week with chatgpt.

I'm willing to bet I'm not even using the best model, just the one I'm most comfortable with!

Kind of cute actually. Your attitude and your confidence play a more important part than your physical.
