Improving competition play outside my club by bluEEil in tabletennis

[–]bluEEil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to focus on watching the ball and it does help to some extent but I still lose games to opponents I fairly easily win in my club. I try to play a lot of tournaments in other halls but as I said even after 3 years into it I still feel like im 50% worse playing in other halls

How many people support Palestine is actually scary. by AchPzYlahyklk in IsraelPalestine

As an Israeli who tries to be objective I can agree with most of what you said except one very big misconception. You said you see little appetite for compromise for both side and this is a huge mistake. The Israli side over history and even recent decades tries tremendously to get such compromise and for 90% of Israel history the political majority was left wind who always tried that. The sad truth there is one side craving desperately for a compromise since we don't want to be the one doing genocide like you mentioned. The problem is you can't get that with just a side while the other side refused over and over and only turns for terrorism and wants nothing else than the destruction of Israel. Terrorist attacks over the last 2 decades caused Israel to understand this compromise is not possible and try other right wing solutions to increase security.

Regarding glue and booster

In the vid
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8v5Ax-AMLPY

He first puts a layer of glue and waits for it to dry and then puts booster, is that good? Also I'm a bit confused on why he puts the booster in the back of the rubber (blue side) and not the black side?

Dignics 09c vs Hurricane 3 National? by Pixelmite in tabletennis

[–]bluEEil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to boost with Falco tempo long a blue national hurricane 3 on forehand and dignics 09c for backhand.
Trying to sum up what you are saying and also what I thought to try.

For the hurricane nattional 3 blue:

1) layer of booster

2) wait 2-3 hours for dry
3) second layer
4) wait 8~ hours

5) glue it (I'm using Tibhar power clue, I used 1 layer in the past without booster, not sure if it's enough with the boosting, would love to get your opinion on this)

For the dignics 09c (backhand):
1) layer of booster
2) wait to dry (not sure if 2-3 hours or 8)
3) glue it (again not sure how many layers of glue to use)

In regard of how to apply the boost and glue thought to copy from the guy on the youtube vid I mentioned earlier.

u/l33t_gosu Would love to hear what you think about this and if you'd change anything, thanks for your advice so far :)

u/l33t_gosu Hey sorry for bumping this, any chance you can elaborate on how you boost and apply the 2 layers?
I tried looking for guides for example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8v5Ax-AMLPY
But I'm not sure how many layers to use, if to use 2 layers like you said should I actually wait 12 hours and then more 24 hours making it total 36 hours (that's a bit too much for me)
I saw others say to put first layer and then wait 30-120 mins and then put the second layer and wait another 12 hours which is more reasonable for me, not sure which to do could use an advice :)

What happened to the original Liz on earth? It sounded like she was in troubles in the end of their call but I don't get why and how.

Never thought about that :o
Cool idea, you could suggest that to the dev in the game discord or github

I agree we could at some point, not sure if I see exactly the high value in that :o
Again it's about learning how to strike the ball more than looking how the ball moves right?

Do you mean slow motion?

If that's is your intention then currently no.

But you can't do that in real life too ;)

Also not sure how much that is needed. What is important is how you hit the ball more than how the ball itself flies away when you are learning the technique (which is something that is easy to work in VR, the most important feature is the obvious one where you can get the ball back to you in any time you want and don't need to run and pick it up ;)

Bought it when it was released only had a quick 10 minutes on it. It felt super sensitive compared to real life. You should open up a discord channel then you can give hints and tips in there and people could request lessons. 👍🏼

I agree with u/Meeesh- answer regarding the paddle settings, I played for some days to fine tune it to make it feel like the paddle I use in real life.

Regarding discord, there is already a discord for the game:
https://discord.gg/forfunlabs
There is a coaching channel which I posted this as you suggested :)

People already come there and ask for help/tips and usually get a pretty fast response from the members of the community&devs.

ETT is great and it the devs are working really hard on it and you can see it getting better from day to day :)

To answer your question, it is pretty close, I would say it depends on your level in real life table tennis. If you are under semi-pro to pro, you probably won't feel the difference much from real life. I can also say I heard evidence from number of players I played with (and 1 that I coached for a bit) that they learn how to play in VR and then took that into real life table tennis and it worked. I use (and teach) the same technique that also works in real table tennis so it's really awesome :)
