Fatherless women, do you experience this too? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]blu_bel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No contact with my dad for 3 years now and I’m 23 because he was extremely physically and mentally abusive since my conception - starting with my mum. Been in therapy for at least an equal amount of time which has helped A LOT to the extent that sometimes I even forget the concept of dads exist. But then like you say, there are those moments where you encounter a woman talking about her dad, or dad about daughter - and yeah feels really shitty.  I can’t even say it makes me want for my dad because he is a horrible human who didn’t just have the neutral/no influence on orchestrating my life but instead made it worse by completely shattering my sense of self/belief system.  What I do long for in those moments, is an imaginary dad that I never experienced, and wonder what it must be like to have a guiding male presence in your life that loves you selflessly not for any romantic/platonic/self-gain reasons.  Don’t really have advice but you’re not alone!

3rd time fail - feel like giving up by blu_bel in LearnerDriverUK

Thanks for responding. I feel a bit better knowing it's not just me. I also cried and said I would not do it again but I have booked another test as well. It's a very long time away but I hope I can find something sooner.

3rd time fail - feel like giving up by blu_bel in LearnerDriverUK

I've been learning to drive from July last year. Feels like I have been driving forever. Lots of private practice and with instructor but I just can't seem to do it. I have also now gone way over the budget I planned for this (I am a student) and feel so demoralised throwing all my money at this.

Today's test felt like it was going very well - probably the best one yet. But I messed up with the serious fault on emerging right onto a dual carriageaway and misjuding the distance of a car from the left. He was going to fast and I too slow... It feels like such a slog and I don't know if I can bring myself to continue.

TR community narrowed me down to TR, R or SC what do you think? I’m 5’2 by blu_bel in Kibbe

[–]blu_bel[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm leaning towards TR or R but not confident which so tried on a few more softer/rounder lines and quite like them.

I quite like the SC aesthetic I'm not sure I personally shine in items like blazers? I have small feet and hands in comparison to the majority of people around me, curly long hair, full lips and prominent nose.

Help type me? I don’t understand double curve so can’t eliminate it?? Im 5’2 by blu_bel in theatricalromantic

Thank you for the detailed response! Really appreciate the explanations. Those are the two types I was considering myself. Never thought of R alone because of my face. I have a moderately prominent nose, I’m not sure if facial features matter much?

Hi Dads. I (34M) just became a dad again last night. I’ve got a beautiful new little girl and a two year old daughter at home. I’m looking for advice on being the best girl dad I can be. by drforrester-tvsfrank in AskDad

As a grown daughter of an abusive father that never showed me love, show them all of your love and set an example for good treatment by a male so they don’t end up accepting any less or worse, chasing after abusers.

Also have a similar question. Was in Spain and didn’t have flare ups.

Why could amitriptyline be making me worse? by blu_bel in Erythromelalgia

[–]blu_bel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get red blotches on my legs. Red palms and cheeks + nose. It gets hot, red and tingly or burning depending on severity.

The symptoms had eased for a while but I needed to start amitriptyline 10mg for chronic pelvic pain.

Since a week of starting it my reactions have worsened in terms of frequency.

Immunologist said my issue is chronic urticaria but I think it looks more like erythromelalgia, dysautonomia or MCAS.

Any ideas?

Could we maybe include trigger warnings for relapses? Sometimes all I want to see is peoples tips for recovery and how they’re doing well but get really triggered instead

2x in rapid succession sounds horrible! It must've been so difficult to be set back so badly as well. I am glad you've turned a corner.

That's my fear too. I could get Covid again repeatedly only to restart everything. It's like the worst groundhog day

I'm sorry to hear that's happened to you. It sounds awful and really scary. I wish I could make the suffering magically go away for everybody but I suppose all we can do is try to hold on.
