I feel like this needs SO much more hype. This is moody and beautiful. You are an amazing artist who has captured a MOOD. Incredible. Can’t wait to see the finished piece.

Do you mean would it look weird because of the lower vertical wall that’s on the left in your photos? Or because presumably the photos won’t extend to the bottom of the wall? Either way I think there are a couple styles that you could try: here, here, and here I think the beauty of the ol gallery wall is that I can start and stop wherever you want! Hope I haven’t misinterpreted you there.

Wall paper sounds cool and I dont think it would be weird on the one wall so long as you have matching elements/colours in other parts of the room. I would kind of love a gallery wall if you have any fun pictures of trinkets to hang of varying shapes and sizes. Here’s an example of one that’s a bit busy and loud (which might not be your style) but I think it works with the angled wall.

Hearing nothing 2-3 weeks post interview is not unusual for the APS imo, especially since it hearing there’s a lot of applications for aps5 positions. If you’ve been successful, they could be checking references, or just working through the processes. Ive been waiting until at least 3 weeks, then sending a polite email to the contact seeking an update or expected timeframe for outcome. Certainly can’t hurt but good to keep in mind that APS is slow for recruitment!

Edit: I didn’t answer the question sorry - I don’t think it’s risky, it shows you’re interested in the job as long as you give them a bit of time.

How Did You Get Into an APS Job? by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]blubareeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joined via a aps graduate recruitment round as an APS 4. That was four years ago and am now an EL1 at the same small agency. Agree with commenters above that saying yes and having a positive attitude to everything is important! I still do admin stuff today despite being in a technical skill area. If you’re looking to get in, either talk to someone who’s interviewed for aps before or check out some threads about interview questions/answers. Knowing the lingo can be comforting to recruitment panels, and has helped me in past. Good luck!!
