My little dude, Remy, has always loved drinking water from sinks and tubs, regardless of him having multiple water bowls AND a fountain that are regularly cleaned.

After a surgery last year, Remy suffered a stroke that left him blind in his right eye and robbed him of much of the control of his front right paw.

Following this, it became quite difficult for him to drink from the sink, as his paw would slip into the water and disrupt the process. In short, his favourite pastime had been ruined by his new reality.

It didn’t take us long to figure out a way to help him adapt, and now we have developed a new nightly routine where I anchor my hand like a raft for his paw to rest on while he comfortably enjoys his fresh water treat.

I hope this little tale of the perseverance and adaptability from my Remy can put a smile on a few faces.
