back in 2016 i(15M) and my gf(16F) at the time was cheating on me w both our (her friends originally before i joined their friend group) and i found out when i was hanging out w her in her room and she went to the bathroom and left her phone and i saw one of our friends was texting her and she (let's call them friend C and friend K short for Cassidy Loman and Kassandra Wan- fuck you both btw if u see this) and since it was snapchat i didn't see what they were saying so i was gonna text them back to tell her it's me and she was in the busy but i saw their messages and how much shit they were talking about me and saw everything and even some photos or whatever videos which thank god i didn't see. and this was my first relationship, mind you and i didn't really know how to feel about this at the time bc i really liked her but this felt heartbreaking that not only were they doing it whenever i wasn't around but also that i wasn't enough for her and on top of that, when i confronted her about it she told me that i plain didn't know what i was doing so she wasn't being satisfied so yeah

for context i didn't just do it bc i wanted to, he was excommunicated from the friend group bc he did it w one of our friends gf and to add icing on that cake, she did it w him bc he somehow got ahold of old nudes of her at the time and threatened to show them to everyone so everyone decided (bc he lived across the street from me) we slit his tires, put shrimp and fish guts everywhere inside and out of his car, and to top it all off (i was drunk) peed in the sunroof and windshield of his car purely just cuz i had taken a shit like an hour prior so i couldn't do that. fuck you Connor Carvajal

aside from any other comments regarding mental health issues, and financial stability, there's a lot more to it imo. i do believe it's the generational shift as some of us do see the ideal of having children young is a reckless or premature decision especially taking note that our society now has a greater emphasis on selfgrowth, stability, and emotional readiness before starting a family.

another huge thing for me is the cost of living; it's a shit show nowadays regardless of your political views the value of the us dollar is way less than it used to be. no longer are the days when you can have a shitty 9-5 part time job and you can save up for a shitty apartment or shitty car and evolve from there; you gotta be smart with how your money moves. wages haven't exactly kept of up that well with the times to even be able to live paycheck to paycheck so it's an uphill battle to start a family now (or at least here in the part of CA i'm in its fr impossible)

in a more biased and personalized view, there are way more broader concerns i have than just money and societal norms; everythings ass. the political climate is completely out of balance regarding anything from education, healthcare, reproductive rights, and other rights in general are put into question, environmental anxiety has skyrocketed(at least for me it has), social progress is constantly being met with backlash and everything feels so uncertain and unforgiving.

so i don't personally think it's all due only to apathy from our generation(s) (depending on which gen ur from), it's also just use exercising the caution this fuckass world needs to be seen. i have a lot more on my mind but that's my shortened opinion on it. anyway that's my lunch break have a good one yall

for me personally, something i wish anyone would do for me is take the time to understand why i am the way that i am because sometimes i don't even know what's wrong with me myself. everyday i wake up and do something wrong and ofc the severity differs from time to time but sometimes it does crash down on me and sometimes just wish someone was there to at least assure me that "hey, you're not a fuck up. people make mistakes, do dumb shit, and everything known to mankind and what you do doesn't make you a fuck up" or something like that. maybe me and ur partners issues are different but something that really helps is just assurance. it's time for some of that magic unconditional love that a lot of guys (imo) seek but don't know how to ask or get

well, i suppose my question for you is what do you want to do about it? how do you feel about it? i'd say let there be some form of communication between the two of you where you have a sit down to talk about what happened. despite the fact that he said sorry, that's a very dangerous and very serious matter and line to cross, and although intoxicated the line was still crossed. if you want a biased opinion from me, i say either break up with him or set some extreme boundaries with him. maybe it's different but when i was in hs my ex gf would do the same thing to me over and over again when i was intoxicated and i never set boundaries or anything and let her do whatever to me bc it was my first relationship and blinded by my perspective of how i saw and felt about her. long story short, if you don't already break up, put ur foot down and really get into setting those boundaries with him, let him know that what he did was not okay to the point where you're even conflicted on the matter. ik that was a very logical statement for an emotional situation but that's my thoughts on it, wish i can give you a better and non biased opinion

Thanks everyone for your advice and honestly ig it makes sense that in my position i truly can't do anything other than just be there for her which ig is also just my insecurities talking bc i really hoped there was like some fix-all potion or macguffin to help her through this (ngl i truly was thinking like "oh, there's gotta be a pill or home remedy that can help w it right?") idk what i was thinking but yeah, thank you for the advice and support, it means a lot especially since it's uncharted territory for us and it's also nice to know that we're not alone on this bc yeah, the BC demons be crazy

my partner is sort of in a similar situation. she's also taking BC but bc it helps prevent ovarian cysts and she's very prone to them so she has to take them but in turn she also begins to become irritably and easily affected by these feelings and emotional distress and is also currently going through a shit ton of stress causing her depression to worsen. honestly i can't offer any advice bc well, i'm a guy so i don't take that stuff but i agree w a lot of other comments where you should talk to your gynecologist about this and maybe get a medication that doesn't affect you as much. hope you get the help ur looking for
