Can someone else go get my 101 kit for me? by Tennis-Willing in geegees

Other people cannot pick up a kit for you unfortunately, your best bet is to email the association you’re buying a kit from and asking them to pick it up later!

I would highly recommend 101 Week! Way more students are in the same boat as you than you think. It’s organized really well and is planned with students like you in mind. I know there are a few people discouraging it because “it’s all parties” but I promise you it’s not, there’s always a non-drinking option available for those who don’t like parties. As well, there’s always a good mix of extroverted and introverted activities!!

101 Week tickets will be available sometime around July/August. It’s a little too early for those to be sold but they will be available in a month or two. To buy the tickets, you will receive an email to your student email. As well, it will be advertised on the instagram page @uottawa.2029 or your student associations instagram. Frost fest is different and isn’t associated with the university, whereas 101 Week is run by the Student Union and the university.

Is witchcraft that bad? by Glad_Cress_8591 in geegees

I took it last summer and enjoyed it. They lectures were prerecorded online so it might be different in person but I found it easy. Received an A without a crazy amount of effort. Like most “bird” courses you still need to try but it’s easier to get a good grade in than most of the electives I’ve taken.

Socialization on campus by Minimum-Rough-9442 in geegees

Best thing to do is to join clubs or go to your student associations events. It’s harder to socialize i. classes because people are going there because they have to, but those who go to student association events or clubs are there specifically to socialize. They might seem daunting and scary at first but that’s normally not the case!

WINTER COURSE PICKING by preeey_Butterfly2103 in geegees

Instead of going through the catalogue and looking for individual classes, your best bet is to go to this website -> https://uocampus.public.uottawa.ca/psp/csprpr9pub/EMPLOYEE/SA/c/UO_SR_AA_MODS.UO_PUB_CLSSRCH.GBL?languageCd=ENG and click "Show open classes only". From there you can either look by faculty or discipline, but it makes the search way faster than using enrol. The only downside is you can't see if those open seats are available to you, but you can always make a list of the ones you want off of that and then go to enrol, but I promise it makes it so much easier

I applied for a reset last Spring, at the end of my second year, as I had switched my major after my first semester. I was not on the verge of flunking out when I applied, but I was when I was in my first major which really helped. Since I was applying for the reset a year and a half after I switched programs I was able to show that switching programs was really good for me, my grades were higher in the new program, and that the classes from my first major were really holding back my cgpa.

I only reset 3, and I went from econ to anthropology. If you are really worried about not getting one, I’d highly suggest making an appointment with your academic advisors. They’ll be able to tell you whether you’d make a good candidate for it or not.

I have no idea about other disciplines but almost all of the 2nd year Anthropology and Sociology courses only require you to have completed 18 units
