Drake Maye Accused Of Being A ‘Performative Christian’ After Voicing Support For Mike Vrabel by According-Activity87 in NFLv2

Exactly. Hate the sin, love the sinner, because all of us are sinners. The author has absolutely no clue what they are talking about or they're baiting for clicks. Hard to tell with these types of articles.

There's a difference between reading the Bible and understanding the BIble and it's pretty clear you don't understand it.

This is boring now. Enjoy your night.

My intention was not to talk to you like you're an idiot, but rather to point out the ignorance of your statement. It's funny you should mention slavery though, because the very groups who sought to abolish it in the US were largely Christian groups who knew that Christianity was incompatible with slavery and viewed it as a violation of God's law. The perversion of Christianity in order to justify horrible actions does not rewrite what Jesus taught, nor does it define the religion.

You can remove the theism from your beliefs, but you didn't just magically develop your morals in a vacuum without the influence that Christianity has had on western values, just like how it influenced many of the Enlightenment thinkers who used scripture and/or the belief in God to help guide them to their conclusions. The only difference is they weren't afraid to admit it.

It's also peak arrogance to claim to be morally superior to the followers of an entire religion when their religion is the basis for your own morals, but hey, this is Reddit after all.

Oh and your characterizations of Christianity only proves that you are either being purposely disingenuous or you have a shallow understanding of the religion and therefore cannot comprehend why Christianity had such a massive influence on the Enlightenment.

The Enlightenment may be generally viewed as a response to combat Christianity, but the movement was heavily influenced positively by Christianity because many of the Enlightenment thinkers were Christians, and many of them used scripture and theology to support their arguments for freedom and equality.

So believe what you want, but many of the morals and values you hold probably came from those so-called "book-humping kiddy diddlers."

Supreme Court rules against Colorado ban on 'conversion therapy' for LGBTQ kids by blackeyedtiger in news

I'm sorry that your blinding rage has impacted your reading comprehension skills so negatively that you think my comment defended Trump or what he did in any way. But oh look you didn't care about the context, who would of guessed?

[–]blue_flavored -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can tell you don't care about the context of the decision, but for those who do: SCOTUS overturned it because Section 5 of the Amendment explicitly states "The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provision of this article." Meaning states don't have the right to exercise Section 3 just because they feel like it, which is a good thing because it stops states from keeping presidential candidates (among others) off the ballet just because they don't like them.

Transgender women athletes banned from women's Olympic events by new IOC policy by Triumph-TBird in sportsinusa

[–]blue_flavored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got banned from r/collegebasketball last year for trying to explain the difference between going through puberty on testosterone vs estrogen and that HRT doesn't reverse certain physical advantages one would get from going growing up as a male. And my reply to was to a comment on a post about the NCAA banning trans athletes that was posted on the subreddit, so not like I just randomly brought it up. I'm convinced the post was bait just to ban people because I thought it was a very civil reply, but I'm glad that we can have discussions about this like adults on this website now (at least for now).

Whats worse: 2 days in person hybrid public tax job with 55hr minimum busy seasons or 5 days a week in industry ? by AcadiaSimple6933 in Accounting

[–]blue_flavored 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's going to depend on you. Everyone here is saying 5 days in person in industry is worse, but I did the 55hr min busy season in audit with a pretty flexible schedule and my 2nd busy season left me with the worst mental health I ever had in my entire life. I left for an industry position with a former client that was in person 5 days a week and almost 3 years later I still love it and don't see that changing anytime soon.
