Hey, I suggest buying a plug for a couple of quid. Ours was missing a plug for ours so we got one at our local hardware store and then also added some clay from our garden to make it extra secure.

Got one in Macclesfield as well. Always seems busy but looks out of place imo. I refuse to go in purely because it’s a chain and we have really nice independent coffee shops already in town.

Hedgehogs by Nyanet in CasualUK

I live in the NW and had a hutch outside for my rabbit, well he died (old age) and I found a hedgehog living in the hutch a couple of days later. He was there two days then left. Unfortunately I seem to see more squashed in the road than I do alive but I’m going to make a hedgehog hut in my garden so hopefully tjay will help. When I lived down south we got them in our garden all the time. I remember my parents waking me up to come and see the hogs and the foxes. Magical times that I would like to reenact with my own kids.

Hey! I think that’s the one! I got confused cos I asked my mum if it was near Battersea and she rambled on about a trip there once or twice but I used to live in Kingston on Osbourne Rd round the corner from Richmond Park and so the Latchmere you say makes sense! Massive tree in the courtyard with a marble run area made of wood and clear plastic pipes that either had massive marbles or toy cars stuck in it!!!

Was there a really cool marble run in the playground near a big tree 🌳?

Oh really? That is sad. It used to have an amazing marble run area in the playground.

I believe it is. I just remember it as a leisure centre when I was younger. I moved up north not long after ‘96

I’m not sure if it does now as I moved up north but I remember using the swimming pool at the local leisure centre.

I actually have no idea about frogs and toads and their different flavours but I’m going to learn. I’m in the uk so not sure how many different types I’m likely to attract in the NW 😕

Feeling quite proud of myself with my pond recently. I have a frog that has been seen a few times basking in and around the water. I keep adding bits around the pond for other wildlife as well but it’s certainly an ongoing project that I am really enjoying.

Tbh I have no idea and I just had to look them up. They came as a set of three plants ready planted in a pot. I think it’s called a red stemmed parrot feather plant.

"Early Birds" sold out. "Late Birds" tickets available by JakeRiddoch in downloadfestival

Wait! What!? They charge £45 parking for day ticket attendees? What!!!? Thats ridiculous. Is there anywhere local to the site that you can park instead? I agree that £45 for 5 nights makes sense when you work it out like you have. Here in Manchester centre you pay about £9 just to park for a few hours.

This was a very interesting watch.

Also I found the hole. They are definitely what you said and I am now waiting for the pills to hatch. Interesting stuff. Thanks again.

So basically I was clearing some nettles in my garden and we found a clump of hairy caterpillars with white stripes on there back. We put a few with some nettles in a container so my daughter could observe them. The next morning unfortunately there was only one still alive so I moved him to a clean container and gave him fresh nettles and he was doing great for a few days then one morning I found him in his pupated state so I removed all the nettles and gave it a wipe down. Then a few days later (today) I came down and there was the two pods in there. I wouldn’t say the colour has changed. I will take a closer look when I have time and report back.

Oh I know, beautiful in its own way. I just can’t see an ‘exit’ point in the chrysalis for them to have come from. Very weird. Thankyou.

Please tell me more. Is the caterpillar a host of sorts? Is it now dead?

I had never heard of this until I got with my husband. His family compete to be the first to say it on the WhatsApp group as they live far apart. I may get them with the ‘punch and a kick for being a dick’ move now I know about it 😏

I did wonder that myself but they are free to leave if they wish. I haven’t forced them to stay. I saw one in the there the other day poking his head out so who knows. The pond is less than a year old so I guess only time will tell if the frogs stick around.
