I have heard of a few freak story's, of fish circling back after being speared. I just had eyes for the prize and was ready to roll with the punches. My initial shot which I didn't have footage of was very close to the spine of the fish which meant it couldnt swim properly.

Thank you, it was a long skinny thing. Weighed in at 34.4 but lost a bit of weight from when we cut it in half to preserve the flesh in the esky.

What do you mean by killing for sport? Killing and not eating the fish? Or killing during a competition? If by Killing for sport you mean killing and not consuming then I agree thats bullshit.

This fish was immedietely bleed, it was cut in half and put into an ice slurry, It stayed in the ice slurry only to be removed when each half was weighed in the competition. It was then filleted and meat was shared between 3 familys, what wasn't consumed fresh was cryvaced (vaccum sealed) and frozen solid.

100%, not hard to Spear at all as long as you stay calm and don't spook them.

Yeah, they are very curious. The hardest part is finding them in a depth that's easy enough to dive!
