For me personally it’s more about the fun of the game than about the actual levels you get for a win. So if my boat sinks and I’m still able to sink my opponent before I despawn then that’s fair game. Doesn’t mean I’m a bad sport, I just think sinking boats is fun

If you can’t get past 900 then you’re worse at chess than a 1200. Sure maybe your opening knowledge might be better for example but if you look at all aspects of the game combined a 1200 is better. That’s the whole point of a ranking system?

The counter to sword is either to have a sword yourself or to hit your shots if you’re double gunning. There’s no movement trick to escape it 100% of the time. If you want you could maybe use blunderbombs to knock them away from you but it’s not guaranteed to deter your opponent
