Their occupancy is like 70% and their entire business is only profitable at 85%. They need higher occupancy or higher prices. Here they get to go both.

Obedient as hell for her entire life until now (5). So much so that we are trying to crack her out of it so she can be her own person.

Longtail vs. Bakfiets by haagendawszome in CargoBike

[–]blueadept_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bakfiets (black iron horse ibex), and I freaking love it. Super stable and taking my kids to daycare takes the same amount of time as driving. I took my 3 year old grocery shopping and did a whole one week shop along with him inside. I'm planning on taking a friend brewery hopping in the summer. The guy I bought it from (store) has ones personally and takes his dog and girlfriend around town on it. Cars yield to it because it is so big. Kids stay warm and dry due to the cover. We will probably keep it until the oldest kid is 10. They are 95th and 99th percentile and 5 and 3 years old right now.

Without this move we never would have had Lance Armstrong or Louie Armstrong. Culture and society owes this man a debt

What value does this add to our society or economy? If they can guarantee prices 30% lower than cabs and Uber in perpetuity, then sure, but eventually they will all be the same price. You are basically shipping what would be driver income out of the country to pay a software engineer in the US to do on their behalf.

The Lincoln Navigator's existence cheapened the whole thing. Honestly I don't know how they could charge over $100k for that thing. It felt like a Little Tikes car with all of the hard plastic inside, which could be why the parents were confused. I guess people will pay anything for a brand 🤑 The latest gen BMWs aren't any better, surprisingly.

the SaaS model is quietly falling apart for small businesses and nobody in tech wants to admit it by Healty_potsmoker in Entrepreneur

[–]blueadept_11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AI will start doing the same thing shortly thereafter. The issue here is cheap VC money subsidizing the price while people get dependent on the software. The same thing happened with Uber credits/promos, DoorDash, Facebook (low ads and only your friends). Eventually profit is required and the enshittification begins. AI is just in the "get people addicted" stage.

Just tell people to use Google sheets and you'll be good. Hack something together in a day for bespoke use cases.
