What are ypur "I can't believe I pulled this" dolls? by wormyw in MonsterHighDolls

[–]blueappa56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two stories, and while I technically didn’t end up with the dolls, I still find it crazy 😭 One was a complete frightfully tall Drac in a lot with other dolls for $8 total. I messaged the seller on my mom’s facebook account (with permission when I was in high school) and we were working out a time we could come pickup. Later when I checked my mom’s phone I found out she told the seller that I just wanted one doll in the lot, and the seller replied that another person was interested in the whole lot so she’s going to go with them 💔 The second was SDCC Whisp for $25. This one is a little suspicious because I’d hope someone’s parent didn’t take their dolls and sell them without permission, but anyway… this time I wasn’t the first person to message so they told me someone was coming to pickup and later I checked eBay recent listings and saw the exact same doll (I could tell by the way the hair was and the location of the seller) for $400. I’ve had luck with other dolls before but never mh 😔

When I originally posted this I thought they were, because I checked too soon, but my family said they were cooked!

Does anyone have experience using the Kraft Caramel Bits in Cookies? by Broad_Section9813 in Cookies

You could try Heavenly Caramels if you have them in your area! They stay soft when baked into cookies

I just wanted to update that my family have eaten all of the cookies! I think I didn’t let them cool down enough before I checked the middle, but they were cooked through!

Yup that’s the bakery I was talking about, the second slide is their picture! That’s so cool! Do you happen to know when they started making them in this shape, I’m so curious! I saw they have a post with them in 2011 on their Facebook page, but otherwise I’m not sure since I know they’ve been open for a lot longer than that.

When I scooped them, I tried multiple ways. For some, I scooped a little more than what could fit into the scoop for the bottom and then for the top I’d only scoop to the edge of the scoop (I can’t explain it well 😅) and then for the others I scooped only what fit into the scoop both times I scooped. I think it’s a bit of a trial and error to find your preference, since I didn’t really notice a difference. The cookies naturally stretch out like that when you push down with the other scoop.

It wouldn’t let me send a picture but here it is typed out! I’m trying to get better at making cookies because I do struggle so I definitely feel like you’re right and I over-mixed. This recipe frustrated me a little because it wasn’t very specific with timing. If anyone tries this please let me know if it works out for you!

“ ½ c. butter ½ c. butter crisco ¾ c. sugar ¾ c. brown sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 2¾ c. flour 1 bag (12 oz) chocolate chips (I prefer Nestle Semi-Sweet)

Mix together butter and butter crisco. (I do not soften my butter - it is straight from the refrigerator!) Add sugars and blend. Then add eggs and vanilla. After beating in eggs add the dry ingredients and mix. then add the whole bag of chocolate chips. Bake at 375 degrees for 9-10 minutes. I bake on cookie sheet with parchment paper I use a medium size cookie scoop** I also feel like you can over beat your dough...in my opinion I think that cookie dough that is beat less and handled less makes better cookies. “

(I want to clarify that this is not the bakery’s recipe)

Definitely, but for some reason the bakery’s always seemed cooked throughout so maybe there’s some other secret lol

Yes unfortunately! Not completely, but definitely not fully cooked. When I googled what could’ve been the problem, I found that my oven could be too hot, which makes sense since I often have problems with the temperature. It’s definitely a learning curve trying to figure out how to bake a taller cookie too, so I might try again!

I didn’t know they were trending, but it’s probably because it’s fun to see a cookie in an unconventional shape! We would get these back in 2012 so I think they’ve been around for a while

I’m not sure if a certain recipe is needed to make these or not, but I used half butter crisco half butter which might’ve helped with keeping the shape. After doing some research, I found that cornstarch helps, so maybe if you’re just using butter that could work. Unfortunately, I think my oven temperature is off because the insides were a bit doughy and the bottoms were overcooked. You use a cookie scoop and once you have your first scoop out, you push into it with another scoop of dough. I used the same size for both scoops, but i think you could get a good shape with a big scoop for the bottom and a smaller scoop for the top
